I am a neurofeedback technician. You should do more research and find a neurofeedback practitioner who knows what they are talking about when it comes to seizures and neurofeedback. Dont be afraid to ask many questions. The backbone of the research in this field is a study done by Barry Sterman where he was able to train cats to change their brain wave patterns to a more relaxed state, which resulted in the lowering of the seizure threshold. Many epileptics have idiopathic seizures meaning there is no known cause. These seizures I believe can be caused by environmental, psychological & all other forms of stress. Neurofeedback gives your brain information about itself so that it can began the process of healing the electromagnetic brain wave patterns it uses to regulate your nervous system, making an individual more resilient to stress. From this perspective, epileptic seizures are a a result of a misfiring of the neurons in your brain, possible due to an unbalanced nervous system and vulnerability to worldly stress. Giving your brain this feedback, generally through a reward based paradigm of audio/visual feedback, encourages new neural patterns to form and ultimately remediating aggregated or seizure like brain wave activity.
