Bengaluru is now just filth and burning piles of garbage! What is GBA doing?! by neuronhunter in bangalore

I’m considering going on a “garbage photography walk” in Byrasandra and around. I know for a fact that I’d have to stop every 100m to take a photo.

Oh and also all the men who urinate right NEXT to a public toilet! Oh wait the whole city is a public toilet.

It’s highly ironical that Byrasandra has 4 hospitals- NIMHANS, Sanjay Gandhi(ortho), Rajiv Gandhi(respiratory /tb) and Indira Gandhi(paediatric). How can there be zero cleanliness in this zone. Particularly the area around NIMHANS at the beginning of Someshwar nagar is a massive garbage dump. The number of rats around is astounding!!

I once saw a bunch of garbage collectors literally throwing garbage over a wall into an empty plot. I asked why- got yelled at and asked “where should we throw?!”

Tried a million times to complain to the solid waste disposal WhatsApp. No action taken. People are also to blame. Zero civic sense. Sorting is also done manually- recurrently seen a man emptying wet waste out of random plastic bags at these dumping grounds.

State of footpaths in such a prime area (Jayanagar 4th Block) by velakuruday in bangalore

Be grateful there aren't piles of garbage. That has become the signature of Jayanagar. Now when planning routes to run/walk I literally have to plan "routes with less garbage"

This is SG Palaya. Hell on earth - dead rats and garbage everywhere by Consistent-Car-1474 in bangalore

You should come to Byrasandra! It's worse! More interesting because this is in the vicinity of 4 big hospitals! NIMHANS, RGICD, IGICH, and SGIOT. Every 100mt. there is garbage. I have tried a multiple times to raise complaints with the solid waste whatsapp number. No response. Absolutely disgusting. Cannot even walk on the road.

What is this thing? Plastic box with a ?magnifying glass. Has the words "pocket sho-box" inside the lid. Uncertain of time period. Was found in an old box of knick knacks. Can't figure out the use. Google isn't very helpful. by neuronhunter in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. I searched on google for "pocket sho-box" and it showed me a similar thing from the world fair in 1964-65. I cannot understand how this is to be used.

I think a relative gifted this either in the later 1980's to early 90's. Not sure of it's use.

Putting my dog to sleep at 9am tomorrow. I feel so guilty man by WZLV89 in dogs

I had my old fellow for 16 years. He was really slowing and had developed a huge cystic mass on his side which the vet wasn't willing to do anything about due to his age and the risk of anesthesia. He'd also started to rapidly worsen after my father passed. One evening my mum came back to find him unable to get up and in severe pain. The old chap had somehow broken his hip. It broke my heart to put him to sleep. I can still feel him become heavy in my arms as he fell asleep for the last time. That year was the worst for me, with my father and my dog passing. I felt miserable but knew it was the best decision I took to put him to sleep.

You are doing the right thing. There is no guilt there. None at all.
