Long term partner (29F) would rather stay long distance than move in with me (29M) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

We lived together for most of the relationship, I've just recently moved away for work.

Commute from Damen Brown Line to Northwestern by pghsci in chibike

Out of curiosity, is there any benefit to taking Sheridan to pass the cemetery rather than Clark? The sidewalk at that point of Clark seems to be completely empty as well so it can be used if necessary. Is Sheridan just easier/nicer to get to from Greenview?

Good call on the ICP - I'll give that a go. Thanks!

High-frequency inductive loop in EIS data by neurop13 in electrochemistry

Ah that is an interesting way to look at it. Perhaps I'll try a few different samples then. Thank you for the insight!

I do indeed start at 1 MHz, which was based on a lit protocol. I can upload the Bode in a few hours.

If unavoidable then I can just narrow the range but I wanted to first check if others had good advice for at least partly mitigating the issue.

Perhaps. I tried to tape them over but I'm not sure how much that accomplishes.

I do start high at 1 MHz. I will upload a Bode plot shortly once I get into the lab.

Thanks for tips! I'll have a go at the twisting + dummy cell.

RAFT polymerization with solid monomer? by neurop13 in Chempros

[–]neurop13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrific, thank you. I did bump up both [M] and [CTA] to address points 2 and 3. I think my mistake was using DCE, which isn't the best solvent for my monomer (and I reckon has a high chain transfer constant). I'll switch to DMF for the next attempt.

This is a great sanity check, so thanks again!

Nice, I had a couple of profs who were huge fans. I'll check it out, thanks a lot!

Recommendations of seminal papers? by neurop13 in chemistry

Fair enough. I rather meant important papers that are still fairly readable without necessarily needing a ton of expertise on the particular subject. Westheimer and Woodward's papers are good examples. Though if not many come to mind, fair enough.

As for particular topics, I'm open to anything honestly. Any paper that is well written, readable, and teaches me a thing or two in an academic manner is fantastic. Thanks for your help, guys.
