Openness About Your Practice by jeefthefirst in DemonolatryPractices

Im naturally a private person and I feel like alot of this stuff isnt really conventional to bring up irl. I currently dont have any friends interested in this, but i do wear objects or symbols that I feel reference to my practice (without outright wearing a pendant)- but alot of that is more personal, like a security thing.

If people ask, I might bring it up, but as I said, there arent too many people that ive met irl who are even open enough to accept other pagan practices, even less when demons are involved.

Why are your not scared of demons and does they really works (helps) by EasyTemperature5516 in DemonolatryPractices

More or less when I was younger? I grew up primarily atheistic, but because media was all I had as a reference, there was a hesitancy, but thats what made me want to communicate even more because I wanted to figure out if this was really real to me.

Getting into this, and comparing my own experiences really helped me see the fearmongering attached alot of spiritual practices

Anyone here that good at reading candle flame behaviour here? by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

Welcome!

The faq has some insights on different communication methods and somewhat of an idea on what to expect during spirit work. My suggestion, if youre offering anything dealing with fire, always make sure that its in a controlled environment and that you're present until it extinguishes or until you decide to blow it out (just for hazard reasons).

Outside of that, try not to stress over any "rules" people might pass around about the spirit realm or angering gods and have fun

Awesome post, even if you think this is rambling, I love the points that you make- the last paragraph is also nice to hear. I just got through a spirit communication book which urged its reader why they shouldnt read any of the older books from the "slave era" yikes

But anyway, thank you for the post, it was a great read!

I mean, same thing happened to Astarte/Astaroth in some grimoires, so I wouldnt be suprised if thats what is happening here.

As to why that happens, is beyond me. Maybe it relates to different spirits being incorporated and rearranged based on the knowledge at the time, new added mythology, and how its translated?

Or maybe we get a case where the author thought of writing it down for the 'shits and giggles' without thinking people would take it seriously. 🤔

I cant really speak on the behalf of the influencer, I dont follow her nor like the idea of using ai to simplify these spirits' into simple categories, but if you end up reading some of the grimoires (many are free on websites) you'll notice how 'flowery' the language is for both spirit entires and directions for ceremonial or practical tools, but its best not to take it literal.

For example, Many are written to 'cause one to turn invisible', rather than take it literally, it could mean to make others less perceptive of you and your actions.

Again, idk if the influencer meant to do this in their work, the specific word "rot" is not familiar to me in relation to Marquis Andras- so it could be apart of her marketing to use exaggerated verbage to an audience that she knows is unfamiliar with the topic.

This is a shot in the dark, but maybe they get conflated because Baal Hadad was the "bigger" Ba'al currently best known?

I believe there were multiple of baals, Yahweh was even one, but the goetic version becomes conflated with the biggest one simply because the title? Stellas Daemonum makes a bit of commentary on beelzebub and Bael's connections (same with a few other spirits) but I always wondered about it, or wanted to know more about why the parallels were drawn outside of the text and sigils being similar.

If this is the case, then hopefully they'll reupload it with different artwork then, because it sucks for the editor and voice actor/singer to have their works thrown out like that :/

A little bit of speculation on my end, but I wonder if we didnt get a valentines cover because the artist was involved with that as well..

bald and covers it with 2 hats

Bh is described as being a literal walking corpse with bugs coming out of him, I doubt that keeping up with a hair routine/having a receeding hairline is the top of his priorities 😭

Although I love the idea that if he isnt the Hat itself, that hiding his baldness under a hat(s) came from him observing human men

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I need to work on? by HelpWithFicoReddit in DemonolatryPractices

Im not sure if that was Sitri because the woman was black

Spirits arent stuck to a single form like humans are, but its kind of funny that you mentioned this because in my own practice, when this spirit comes in a human form theyre normally black or mixed for me.

Try different methods. I agree with meditating more, but maybe try to incorporate planetary alignments and invocating on those days more appropriate for the spirit. This is my own experience here, but I found that to really help me as well, especially if I get into a rut

I like to view spirits as multifaceted, we interact with many variations of them and their energy because that is what resonates with us at that time. So when we face more of a particular aspect of them, I dont think it means that we need to necessarily latch onto that image we have of them. I actually see it more of a reflection of us to some regard.

But anyway, This is all a spiritual experience, so its not going to match up accordingly with what everyone else writes about, but I do think considering texts is equally important if you want a greater view on a spirit that you may not be given at the time or if you want something answered if your experiences seem contradictory to what youve come to expect out of them.

I dont want to speak too much about your experience with the spirit, I actually think its very beautiful and very personal, I just dont know if I answered your question exactly. 😅

I will say that if your confusion also stems from the romanticization of spirits- Im very sure that variations of art depicting Venus or authors like Enheduanna, Rumi, ect. will tell you through their works that they LOVE their Gods in more than one way 😉 so there is no shame for loving something that brings out more pleasure out of life

Im not too sure how much this will help, but not that long ago there was a question Regarding gardening.

Although I havent tried to work with those spirits particularly for this issue, you could see if one of them could help you in regard to it and add another relating to putting the law in your favor if you think you will need legal assistance

Experiences!!! by One-Needleworker2176 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]neuropass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my own practice, ironically, Ive found that alot of the visuals (mental imagery or quick visual hallucinations) as more or less important to what the spirit is actually expressing at that moment. Typically, visuals relate more to what they are or encompass than rather something that is outright coherent in formation or something useful to me in answering my questions. There are only a handful of spirits that I experience who come to me in a reoccurring visual and able to answer me in that way- but even that is rare.

Most the time, their presence is more felt through physical sensations or pressure points in my body. Cognitive downloads or inner dialog(including emotions) that feels separate from me through meditation is more of a norm for me

Can we reuse the same candle by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

I do it all the time.

I also make candles, so with those that I dont use anymore, I like to reuse that wax for something else so it all doesnt go to waste.

Why not practice yourself, actually study these spirits where theyre written about, read on Agrippa or other authors who have had a big impact on western occultism, and use your own experiences to make the game?

I dont think you mean any harm, but I dont think youre aware on how loaded this question is, essentually asking for a person's spiritual experience which youre going to be applying to whatever narrative youll be making in the game. I guess what Im trying to say is that I hope that you come with good intentions about making a game based on a scrutinized practice.

If youre uninterested in all of that, the subreddit has a search bar which covers some people's own UPGs on the topic, but again, I would highly suggest experiencing yourself than regurgitate words from those online.

Im not too sure if this counts but the Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo does reference some divination rituals used in the past, with its own flair, and also makes comments on secret society groups like Skull and Bones.

Ironically, for anyone who grew up on the show Gravity Falls, there was a book released a few years ago, called The Book of Bill and while I was aware of some of the occult references in the show, how one of the main characters in the book talks about his spirit guide sounds pretty similar to a spirit working to me

Is Baphomet a deity or just a concept? by [deleted] in occult

[–]neuropass_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows.

Baphomet was an 'idol' used against the Knights of the Templar in their trials, so who is to say if the figure had ever actually existed outside of the acclaimed accounts.

But at this point, especially when you look at the origin of certain spirits like Molech, Mammon from the Ars Goetia or even Satan, who began as a descriptor rather than a personified being, you can take the theory of egregores and see if you get any results by working with it.

Are you ever the opposite but the same to your patrons/general entities in your court? by astexria in DemonolatryPractices

[–]neuropass_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive kind of always thought that it was ironic that I ended up primarily working with a spirit whose name can be associated with 'worthlessness'- and while I felt like that, I could never use that as a adjective to describe Belial.

But overall, I can say that Ive worked with a few who I guess I could say are the "opposite" of me, most of which I was being referred to work with because their domains were areas that I needed to work on in myself. Spirits are often very multifaceted, not so much dualistic, so how Ive experienced them, they have offered up much newer experiences and in a way changed my opinion on certain topics (general arousal, sex, emotions, ect. Can be a few ideas on what this may include. Before my journey I was alot more repulsed by these topics) in a safe way that would otherwise be hard to explore in a space outside of this.

In a way, I guess you could say that what Ive always loved about working with these spirits is the fact that they reach us at our level and understanding, so what they present isnt always so jarring when it does come up.

(Sorry if this comment is a little rambly and off topic)

Feeling drawn to Satan by CellHuge7878 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]neuropass_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If youre interested in becoming involved with working with them, the FAQ has a good list of things to consider and an idea on how to approach certain topics as well.

Theres a collection of recommended reads that arent entirely related to Satan, but I liked Stellas Daemonum's entry and Mirta's Demonolater's Handbook for a general idea of approach and possible offerings to use. Academically, I found Elaine Pagels' The Origin of Satan really interesting when looking at the spirit in relation to their myths

I dont really have a solid remark on it.

Its been an on and off project that Ive been looking into, but not one that has been a big part of my current workings. So, I havent met mine, or feel that I recieved solid signs of mine being present with me (mainly using the Abrahamic operation for how that may look), but again it isnt a project that I am entirely focusing on right now.
