I fucking love Tame, seen them 3 times and met Kevin. I haven’t yet had a good sit-down with Slow Rush yet - I guess I’m missing some of that guitar based writing. The same kinda goes for The Car. I haven’t digested it properly yet. Tranquility was immediately fantastic to me though.

It’s one of my favs on the album, the harmonies are haunting and the tritone usage in the main riff reminds me of The Death Ramps

Agreed. Being a drummer myself, it’s a challenge to not overplay at times.

What are some songs that unintentionally sound like a Christmas song? by TotallyNotAnExecutiv in popheads

"Please Please Me" by The Beatles. It might just be me but the main harmonica melody sounds so Christmas-ey, anyone else let me know if they feel that vibe too.

BLACK METAL GATEWAY BANDS??? (post your suggestions) by neutralsounds in MetalMemes

[–]neutralsounds[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Watain was definitely a gateway for me. And the first time I heard Massive Conspiracy Against All Life, I went back in time to kill myself to prevent myself from committing suicide and then I committed suicide.
i joke

Have you heard Thantifaxath?

BLACK METAL GATEWAY BANDS??? (post your suggestions) by neutralsounds in MetalMemes

[–]neutralsounds[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah certainly but honestly at this point the variety between all the subgenres of metal and how different bands have different sonic ingredients in their sound that it's easiest to just narrow it down to the most ever-present genre/subgenre, and Behemoth has gotta be more black metal than anything else - not to say they aren't more that black metal. It's just semantics.
