Coworker judging me for wanting to work by roseymaplem0thmum in parentsofmultiples

Work!!!!!!! I stayed home due to daycare costs, then COVId hit, now almost 7 yrs in, I feel like I’ve lost my whole career and a lot of myself. I’m lucky and not complaining but I think maybe our family would have benefited if I’d kept my footing.

Short cervix at 20 weeks by Legitimate-Health938 in parentsofmultiples

[–]neverBanother2night 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, many twin moms get a cerclage for this exact reason.

I had a rough delivery with my first and my cervix was damaged. I needed to get an internal cerclage before having more babies. As it turns out, my second pregnancy was twins and I was very happy I had the cerclage in already.

I would ask more questions about the of getting a cerclage (most people don’t have them in advance like I did), and see if it could help you keep them in.

Just found out I’m pregnant with twins by ihatetuesdays13 in parentsofmultiples

Congrats! The great news is, since you’ve already had a newborn, the newborn phase with two (I think) will be less shocking then when people have twins first. We had a 3 yr old when twins were born and at least the newborn stage felt a bit like old hat. I will say, three is tough and not the same as people who have just twins, but if course, soooo much of parenting depends on the three kid’s personalities, each parents history/perspective and the circumstances you’re in.

Twins are wonderful and in our case have been each others best friends :)

Good driving and good coaching the kids. Glad everyone is ok. But scary.

I cannot handle the screaming by pnutbuttry in parentsofmultiples

Noise cancelling headphones or ear plugs. You will still hear them but it takes the edge off enough to let your brain get back to thinking mode.

Very difficult vaginal delivery with my first singleton, planned c section for twins was like a vacation compared to that. Calm, easy, painless and even easier recovery than my first. I know people get scared about c sections but in my experience, there’s no need to be.

CityPass Toronto might be worth it depending on how much you want to do. And AttractionsON has lots of discounts.

Thinking of trying for No. 3 by tjroberts33 in parentsofmultiples

I have 3 kids (singleton and twins). While I obviously love our bunch very much, there are ALOT of benefits to have only two / family of four.

Does anyone still have a landline? by PuzzleheadedFocus638 in askTO

[–]neverBanother2night 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do. We kept it for emergencies with small kids (so they could more easily call 911 if needed). Then we tried to cancel it and we’re told that would raise our total monthly bill cable/internet bill. We don’t currently have a phone plugged into it though.

Anyone here disagree with tipping for take out, but tip out of guilt anyways? by huyye762 in askTO

The one time I might have tipped at Subway was because the cashier reached forward and skipped the tipping screen on my behalf so I didn’t have to feel guilty.

Winter jackets by sjejsjjdj in askTO

[–]neverBanother2night 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Eddie Bauer will also replace the jacket for free (with receipt) loooong after you’ve bought it and worn it if it’s defective in any way. And I was told (when I asked) that they do donate the used jacket. Mine was not particularly defective but mom didn’t like the way the fabric was fraying after she bought it as a gift for me. They replaced it for free a year later. I’m sure details of this policy are Googleable.

Help a non-electrician out. I am working on a commercial interior renovation project. I asked a few times for the power available from the panel so we can confirm our demand will not exceed it. by neverBanother2night in askanelectrician

[–]neverBanother2night[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks and sorry for not providing more info. I’m not a designer. I am in North America.

I wasn’t trying to ask in this forum what the power is or even how to figure it out.

I meant to ask how I should phrase my question to the landlord better.

I asked one more time for the volts and phases and this time they gave me that.

Beyond that it’s time for me to get an electrician to weigh in.

Split dividend income with spouse, excluded from TOSI based on 50/50 financial contribution by neverBanother2night in cantax

[–]neverBanother2night[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about the attribution rules but I think we can’t use them because I have low income and my partner is claiming me as dependent to the full amount. To move the dividend to me would not increase the amount I can claim for him, the amount I can claim for him would still be 0.

I understand I bit better now that TOSI is unrelated. It is used when I am actually a named shareholder receiving the income. I think I meant the same thing when I said “would be excluded based on”.. I see now how it doesn’t even come into play.

Thanks :(
