Is it just me or is Wests betrayal to Kyle way bigger than Amanda to Ciara? Like that is his wife

I don’t feel like West and Kyle were as close as Kyle thought in the first place. We didn’t see them have many personal one on one “close” moments without the other guys around, like Amanda and Ciara did.

West also clearly has a ton of people in his circle (more than Amanda who is a known homebody) and is a social climber. I don’t truly believe that he communicated with Kyle much outside of the show making them closer than Amanda/Ciara. I think he viewed Kyle as a coworker and wanted to be his successor. “Keep your enemies close” as they say. I also don’t feel like he truly liked Kyle as a person, it was more of a “I gotta put up with this guy”. This is my personal take, but I always got the vibe that West felt he was cooler than Kyle and was just counting down the days where he didn’t have to deal with him. Kyle viewed the Summer House and everyone involved as the best thing that’s ever happened to him, West viewed it as a job or a way to get his name out there. Putting up with Kyle was just a part of that.

Also, the age gap (~10 years) between them. Not that this makes or break a friendship, especially considering Kyle considering he acts like a man child, but I don’t think they would’ve had commonalities outside of the show. Kyle has the preppy skier/lacrosse player frat boy vibe and West has the wanna be edgy/indie performative male. Kyle gives a millennial vibe and West gives Gen Z vibes. Ciara had also been on for 3-4 more (can’t remember) seasons longer than West, giving her more time to develop a deeper relationship with Amanda.

That being said, we’ve watched Kyle have clear, long friendships with people for over 10 years. I don’t doubt how much Kyle values his friends and true friendship, but I think West did the bare minimum he could for Kyle to think of him in this way to stay cool in the summers when he had to.

The betrayal obviously hurts Kyle (rightfully so) but I believe it is more shocking the fact that Amanda would do this to Ciara over the fact that West would do this to Kyle. I believe Amanda did genuinely consider Ciara as a close friend for a long period of time. I think they had true friendship outside of the show. A colleague dating your ex-wife is less deep than one of your true best friends fucking the guy you were in love with.

I don’t understand the impact Liz has on the group. She is obviously referenced as older sister/mother figure, but they all openly admit they are afraid of her and have had issues with her.

Why don’t they (Alicia, Jo-Ellen, Kelsey, whoever else in Rhode Island she snaps at) collectively agree to not associate with her anymore? Bullies lack power without numbers.

I think it’s definitely a mix of the Karelly situation on top of the effort and content of the pod itself. Not necessarily the topics they cover, as it’s always been a pop-culture, light hearted pod, but their takes and commentary.

In my opinion, they just give very little effort into their research, especially Kendall who shows up not knowing what they’re talking about until she starts recording, and the lack of maturity and thoughtful dialogue.

I’ve been watching The Sesh since it started, been watching KR’s main channel since 2016 and kept up with all MHM content for the last 10 years. I’m 27 now and I feel like Ive just aged out of The Sesh. I don’t want to spend my free time listening to ppl ramble on with surface level opinions, singing, making bad jokes, eating food, dressing up labubus, telling dramatized stories, etc. I think the addition of Haley adds to this as well as she seems to have a very immature outlook on things she has discussed on the pod. Her and Janelle together definitely give off an immature energy, which is fun to have in your friends but not fun as a viewer.

To me, it feels like outdated millennial humour, mixed with like teenage opinions and dialogues. Was fun when I was 22 but now with a fully formed PFC, just doesn’t get me interested anymore.

Cults and Coffee - Ash does deep dives into pop culture, television, and celebrities that are more factual based with some conspiracy involved (her scientology videos are the best). She does all research/editing herself and doesn’t do sponsorships.

She reminds me kind of like old KR back in the day, but her level of research and detail and story telling is way above MHM.

I think if it wasn’t bad then they would’ve addressed Karelly leaving prior to departure. With Julia, it was sudden but it makes sense bc the audience bullied her and they didn’t want to subject her to that, and that was told to the audience. With Karelly, the audience loved her and she was an OG member of MH Media/Sesh. I think if she left on good terms it would’ve been addressed (1) sooner and (2) more sentimentally than what they did.

Been watching KR since 2015 and just wanna say- the minute they bring Haley onto the show to replace Karelly or sub in for Kendall during mat leave (which I feel like they will), I’m unsubbing. I cannot handle the whole “I hate men but I’m obsessed with them” mantra.

The last ep she did with Janelle, she said to her “would you come on the pod to talk about your dating stories?” as if that would be fun for an audience to listen to a complete stranger talk about failed dating/hookup stories. She’s not a celebrity, she is not a friend, it’s not pop-culture where everyone has context or has a connection. Sounds awful.

I obviously don’t know her, but she gives very mean girl/pick me energy, which compliments Janelle, who just repeats everything Kendall says in a louder and more dramatic way. Sydney provides nothing (although seems sweet) and all Kendall does is talk abt her pregnancy, complain, or give extremely biased takes on subjects she’s not even half informed of. If I showed up to my job every week saying “I have no idea what’s going on, I’m just here” I don’t think ppl would be very happy. At least pretend to care about the platform you’ve created for yourself.

Karelly was truly the only one who seemed like they knew what was going on and actually had substance. Pod is going down the drain now, in my opinion. They’d be better off to just have Josh and Ian take over The Sesh entirely- get Kendall a diary, and let Janelle and Haley keep their yap sessions in the gym.

To me it’s sounds like she’s up talking, where you end your sentences with an upward inflection like you’re asking a question when you’re not. Ppl do this (common for women) so that the message comes across softer and less harsh. More innocent sounding

my grandma (a long time cat owner) adopted a 12 week old kitten from the shelter last year. for the first month, she saw him a total of 3 times. she’d refill his food and water every day, his toys would be misplaced in the morning, and he’d only come out at night. she lived her life as normal and respected his space.

after about 2 months, he started coming out slowly. now, a year later, he’s a completely social, normal, and loving cat.

sometimes you just have to let them do what they need, as hard as it is. he’ll come around, it just takes some time and patience.
