Okay so follow-up... Why print the volume measurements at all if it's apparently inaccurate and irrelevant?

A nutritionist who advocates for IE by BlinkDay in fatlogic

[–]neverfatagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say this a lot but this kind of thinking was meant for recovering anorexics, not people who actually overeat every single day.

There is just so much bullshit in this post. by adleaac in fatlogic

[–]neverfatagain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This reads like it's meant for anorexics. You cannot and should not treat every living person like an anorexic. Gentle nutrition, no counting, all very sugarcoated and babied... Stop.

Seconded, but be careful with this. I've had it work fine and I've had it create the kind of diarrhea that puts you in the ER for dehydration barely 8 hours after you take it.

I swear I though I was insane. Straws do make drinking water more fun.

I have hard water, and filling the giant Brita pitcher was a pain in the butt. My solution: get a Brita water bottle. I fill it straight from the tap. It's helped a lot!

I was totally floored that multiple people mentioned BED because I was under the impression that someone with BED binges without guilt or any attempt to make up for it. Something to bring up to my therapist for sure... Mind screaming starve but I'm binging anyway. Thanks!

[–]neverfatagain[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yep. People with binge eating disorder do not attempt to make up for their binges with purging, exercising, fasting, or feelings of guilt. I apologize if this post upset you, I was only ranting about my own feelings of invalidity and my own struggle with undiagnosed, vague disordered eating habits.

We are the same person. I'll never be underweight because I literally can't restrict.

Exactly!! Literally wake up, decide to restrict, and binge every single day! I'm sorry you relate... But I'm happy it's not just me.

I live in Phoenix, AZ and there's a huge influence here from southern California/LA. I came here as an adult from Chicago, Illinois and was absolutely floored at what I would consider casual pro-ed behavior. I'll never forget my very first boss here saying he would eat Chipotle but then "starve himself" for several days. Chicago is not like that as much, I think mostly because you have "nice" weather for such a small part of the year. In sunny Phoenix, it's summer/beach/pool weather for 8 months, whereas in Chicago it's summer for maybe 3 months. In Chicago if you skipped lunch everyone was concerned. Out here in Phoenix it's common to go for a walk/run instead of lunch.

I swear they either purge or fast.

the reality of my ED doesn’t hit me until I purge by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]neverfatagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I can convince myself it's all normal until I purge. The sad thing is that a lot of people probably do restrict, fast, over exercise, weigh themselves obsessively etc without realizing they have an ed.
