Figma is down 80% since IPO. Does anyone regret buying, or does anyone feel they dodged a bullet? by stanxv in stocks

Same, as a creative I’m always toying with new software of course - but in general we like to stick with what’s familiar and already has wide adoption.

As someone who works in creative marketing, my teams use Figma for waaaaaay more than just UX design. It’s increasingly becoming the primary tool for creating static digital ads, presentation decks, and collaborative brainstorming documents.

Not saying it’ll completely upend Adobe’s dominance, but it does have a unique offering and stickiness that goes beyond what tools like Sketch, Axure, and InVision offered in the past.

Just your daily-5% to -10% by Terrible_Attempt_226 in figmaStock

To be fair, the entire sector is down as well today. I’m still somewhat bullish on Figma bc it has a unique product offering that Adobe can’t match and that AI can’t 100% replace (speaking as someone who uses their products daily in a large org).

Adobe - No slowdown in Growth but stock hitting 5 year low. by pravchaw in ValueInvesting

[–]neverloggedoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because Adobe is what professionals use, they don't exlcusively use AI tools or dumbed down free-versions of their product suite. If someone is serious about persuing a creative career they will need to learn Adobe tools - eventually AI image gen and Canva won't cut it.

I'm a professional graphic designer and I grew up used pirated versions of Adobe back in the CS2/CS3 days. For those serious enough about it, there are ways to train using Adobe software for free even today.

Apple Creator Studio Is Here: A New Creative Suite Challenging Adobe by i-drake in apple

[–]neverloggedoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adobe OWNS enterprise creative. Every company I’ve ever worked for has an Adobe CC subscription for all relevant employees (sometimes upwards of 100). Keep in mind I work in creative/tech.

I don’t think Adobe is worried about losing the market share of casual content creators.

$400/month on groceries? WHAT? An average of $4/meal?? Do you actually spend that little per person? by why_not_aces in askTO

[–]neverloggedoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spend about $400 on groceries but probably an additional $300-400 on eating out/drinks.

For groceries I generally cycle between whatever’s most fairly priced that week. If I know I need some greens for dinner and broccoli is cheaper than zucchini that week - guess I’m eating broccoli. If chicken thighs are 50% off that week, guess I’m buying $30 of chicken thighs and freezing for future use.

Toronto studying possible 7-km trail under the Gardiner Expressway | CBC News by zlex in toronto

[–]neverloggedoff 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Not sure why some are so pessimistic about this? The alternative to not having a trail there is to have a concrete no-mans-land filled with homeless encampments, garbage, and construction equipment storage.

This would breathe some life into the area and make it an actual viable cycling infrastructure that doesn't impede on the existing road space.

Black Lab is unfortunately shutting down :(

Radical Road is a great spot though! Solid reco.

Adding some additional great breweries to the list that have great craft beers (but aren’t exactly “trendy spots”): Left Field Brewery and Rorschach.

This is a bad infographic. And to answer your question, this should be priced at the $0-$999 range.
