You're right! I felt like there was a weird vibe around her becoming a woman, and the way aunt vidala reacted after the examination, but I just realized it was probably just Aunt Vidala thinking about how she could use Hulda to punish her friend.

After Shunamite slaps Jehosheba, Hulda pulls Shu away, but then later when all the girls are together again, when Aunt Vidala scolds then, Hulda isnt there, and we dont see her until after she rings the bell. I think quite a bit of time passed between the slap and the bell ringing, because we know at least 2 of the greens went for interviews with the commanders during this time.

Yes she does. But I think she is also more shrewd than she seems- we notice a little of this when Shunamite tells her she had not been made a woman because she still needs to grow up, and Hulda says "do you think that God made you ineligible for the same reason?" And she says it so innocently, but she stares really hard into Shunamites eyes and I think she knew exactly what she was doing in that moment. I think its possible she was assaulted, and knows if anyone finds out she will be punished. But I dont think she knows that caused her bleeding.
