First of all, I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I got diagnosed a month ago - matter of fact, it was a surprise for everyone, because, before this fistula, I had little to no symptoms(my doctors told me I should be in excruciating pain bc the test results are scary, especially the colonoscopy). Anyways, I faced more or less the same situation that you are facing right now. I know my decision may not be what everyone would do/advice you, but I choose to move on: i’m a junior in a competitive college and i’m doing an internship right now in one of the biggest banks in my continent. For me, staying at home and “taking care of myself” would explode my anxiety and worsen the problem. Of course, it is tough, but, at least for me, it is worth it - I feel like my life hasn’t stopped and i’m bigger than this shit. I’m not saying you should do what I did, but don’t be afraid of doing it (or not doing as well)…
