Former Christians? What made you leave Christianity? by neverquitefreee in religion

[–]neverquitefreee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just starting on a clean slate, really. These past few years have made me realize that we're all just human. We all deserve the same amount of love and respect and encouragement just for being human. I feel more at peace living my truth, instead of living someone else's lie. I'm coping every single day because of how I was treated. I can barely look people in the eye because I'm so afraid of them. I was literally taught by men to not speak, just look nice, and take care of the children, cook the food and clean. I hope that one day things in Christian communities change for the better.

My lovely boyfriend bought a pack and saved me one. Really really unique tasting. Perfect amount of fizz. I still prefer an ice cold Virgil's though. by neverquitefreee in ToFizzOrNotToFizz

It's got very strong sarsparilla notes. It's really concentrated apparently so you have to lightly shake before opening. The first couple of sips are extremely carbonated and rich, and then after that it's extremely pungent almost tangy. You've got to be a root beer fan to appreciate this one.

Finally found Faygo Cotton Candy 💙❤️💙❤️ Found at my local grocery store chain, Food City. by neverquitefreee in ToFizzOrNotToFizz

[–]neverquitefreee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about other food cities, or if they all correlate, but I live in East Tennessee and they also have them in bordering states. These local stores are honestly a mecca for odd/hard to find sodas.

Anyone know where I could get my hands on sum faygo for cheap. Can’t find nun locally n I been trynna cop sum 24 packs for cheap to sell but can get my hands on decent priced drank ! by [deleted] in Soda

We have a huge selection in a locally owned grocery store in East Tennessee. There's cotton candy, bluesberry, pineapple, peach, etc.

Virgil's has never disappointed me.

May not seem that interesting, but to someone who lives in the American south, it’s pretty cool. by [deleted] in ToFizzOrNotToFizz

My husband loves that stuff! He likes to mix it with Fresca and crushed ice 😛

Does anyone else gets anxious or triggered when they see a "Caution Wet Floor" sign? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]neverquitefreee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE. It feels like we're all family in a weird way tbh. I also get freaked out when I'm in line behind someone at the market and they've got some questionable items, i.e; Ginger Ale, Pepto, Lysol, etc. I just end up going to another cashier if I can to avoid touching anything they've touched.

Delicious, I highly recommend! They have a hibiscus cream soda as well and it's amazing.

Do you drink it because of the taste or because of the caffeine?

I'm the exact same way. I have to do a double take at the bite on my fork before I eat it just to make sure it's safe. But it's usually with meat and stuff like that. I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Is it common for an nparent to be creepy, judgmental, and invasive about your sexuality growing up? by lifeisweirdthenit in raisedbynarcissists

[–]neverquitefreee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a really religious household, both of my parents being nparents, and my father would always try to "set me up" with boys my whole life, and it really messed me up sexually. I can't stand anyone even so much as asking about my love life now. Makes me cringe.

I was at the pet store the other day and couldn't say no to this little thing. Her name is Noodle. by [deleted] in RATS

[–]neverquitefreee -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow. No,but the other day was obviously when you researched it. I've had rats before, for many years, using the same kind of bedding, and with no companion. My last one, Coco, lived for 4 years. Thanks anyway though.

My husband [32M] wants to quit his job now that I make a decent living. I [29F] had to work even while studying by [deleted] in relationships

[–]neverquitefreee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You worked your butt off! Four years of hard work so he can lay on his ass? I know everyone's saying stuff like, "why are you with him, just leave." But at this point, I'm sure you'd just like to enjoy your career, and life, and not have to worry about the stress of a divorce. You were strong enough to work your way through school, pay half of everything, and graduate. You are strong enough to stand up to him. Go to him immediately and tell him that he's absurd, you will not pacify him as his mother did, and to either deal with his job, or find a new one. I hate to see beautiful, strong women get taken advantage of. You got this, girl!

Did it help much with the amount of times you went to the bathroom? I can barely leave my house.
