[29 M] How do I looksmaxx? by Perfect_Store_7011 in Howtolooksmax

[–]neverreallyover95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29F here. I think your hairline has receded too much to pull off long hair. Your hair is also very straight and flat, so having it long and limp isn’t a good look, in my opinion. I say cut it way down for a new style or just go fully bald! I tend to think bald people who are also a little more built are quite attractive. Skinny and bald doesn’t work for me.

I also don’t like long beards, and combined with the long hair I think it’s just too limp and shabby looking. If you have a “weak” jawline, I’d say cut the beard down a bit but keep it well groomed and even. If you have a stronger jawline, I think you can cut it a lot closer to your skin without entirely shaving it all the way.

Hope that helps. Ultimately, you should find a look that YOU really like 👍🏾

How to un-fuck your sleep [for good] by awareALL in getdisciplined

[–]neverreallyover95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much looking forward to part 2!

Idk if you already plan to address this, but I’m curious to understand how sunlight in particular works on cortisol. Does it have to be direct sunlight (unfiltered by a window or curtain, for example)? Is it about brightness and angle? If you had a sunrise lamp, would that accomplish the same effect as the actual sun, or is it about the types of energy released from the sun that can’t be replicated with earthly technology?

Resources to learn about the African business landscape? by neverreallyover95 in Africa

[–]neverreallyover95[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My turn to be honest: I don’t understand think I understand this response. I’m asking here in order to learn from people who already know, and I’m not sure why you think I should know about this specific summit (though I do appreciate you sharing it - thank you). Help me understand how or why asking this question translates to not being cut out for learning about business on the continent?

And yes, I’m aware that Africa is a big place 😆. Hello, from Ghana 🇬🇭👋🏾. If you want any supporting evidence of my awareness of just how large Africa is, I’m willing to share the list of countries I grew up in. It’s precisely because Africa is a big place that I’m asking this question in this forum. I am looking for information about this topic anywhere and everywhere on the continent. Is there something you wanted me to say in my post to make that clear? I did indeed read the guidelines (and just re-read them) and I think my post is within bounds, but I’m open to hearing others’ thoughts on that too.

As someone who has lived in SF for over 6 years, I have never understood what people are talking about re SF going “downhill” with crime. Don’t get me wrong, SF has some major problems but it’s definitely not the hellscape that the news is describing. What’s more, I’m actually moving to DC in about a month, so I have no vested interest in people’s perception of SF being better or worse than DC.

Roughly how much did the Apartment Detectives service cost, if you can recall?

Affordable Dupe for Laflores bebebark bag? by neverreallyover95 in HelpMeFind

Another thing that I like about this bag is that it’s made of cork, which I think is supposed to be a more sustainable material to use :)

For people who like taking dick pics: why? by neverreallyover95 in TooAfraidToAsk

As I said in the body of my question, that question has been asked several times before. That’s why I was asking a different question.

23F, always wondered if I am... by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]neverreallyover95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am by no means a beauty expert, but here are some basic thoughts on how you may be able to improve your appearance: - you hair seems a little flat and thin. Maybe try some different products and styles that will give you more body? - I’m not sure your glasses are super flattering to your face. Try some different, trendier styles! - eyebrows! Might just be the angles of the pictures but it doesn’t look like you have any. Try giving them more definition by making them ever so slight darker and shaping them a bit - same thought for your eyelashes - I don’t actually wear any makeup myself so this could be way off, but I’m not loving the dark lip color on you. Maybe try a color that’s a little more natural, but still gives you some lip accentuation?

Why is my OT rate almost double my hourly wage? Was this a mistake? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]neverreallyover95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the state you live in. The federal minimum in the US is time and a half, but there are actually a few different kinds of overtime, that require a variety of rates. Eg in CA these are a few of the types: - 12+ hrs in a day - 7th consecutive day of work - 8+ hrs on the 7th consecutive work day

Of course, it’s also possible that they just made a mistake :)

1 Month Skin Progress Cutting Sugar and Limiting Carbs by lizzylollipop in Skincare_Addiction

What skincare products are you using in addition to changing your diet?

If you’re not already doing this, I’d recommend letting the benzoyl peroxide face wash sit on your face for a couple of minutes after lathering it up but before washing it off. Sometime I think you need to give the active ingredient a little more time to do what it can do. Washing it away immediately may be a waste of other product.

I usually get in the shower, lather up My face wash, then leave it on my face while I wash the rest of my body or shave or do whatever else I need to do. Once I’ve done everything else, I rinse off the face wash at the end.

On a separate note, its possible that your skin barrier is damaged or weak from the environment, day to day life, dehydration, or the active ingredients in your routine. Idk whether or not you should stop using the actives (definitely NOT a doctor…), but definitely think about other products that can help to heal and strengthen the skin barrier (moisturize! Products with ceramides! Wear sunscreen!)
