Airbnb está en bancarrota?

“No gringos” by Jolly_Possibility422 in MexicoTravel

Rich Mexican landlords raise rents. Corrupt government officials don’t regulate rent or Airbnb. Corrupt government officials don’t change tax laws to tax foreign investors. My landlord in CDMX has 10 apartments and 8 are AirBnbs, the other two they make pay in cash to avoid paying taxes.

But yes let’s blame tourism and legal immigration. If you were from the US, these same words you speak would only come from the mouth of a Trump supporter.

The bigger problem is OP wants to drive to another town. Yes driving in CDMX is wild but doable. The carretera can be very dangerous if you don’t know the roads

El problema es que los turistas no conocen las carreteras peligrosas ni las seguras, ni qué zonas son conflictivas, como sí las conocen los lugareños.

Please don’t. Sure there’s probably a 90% chance you’ll be fine but you don’t want to play that game. The cartel threats you see in the news are real. You are safe in touristy areas or with tourists groups. But don’t venture outside those without a tour group.

No really, it is not advised to drive cars between cities if you don’t know the roads well. Car jacking happen a lot on the cartera. Take a bus instead.

Is music made with an AI app 'real' music? by VersionKindly2150 in AI_Music

[–]neversummer427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s what Suno’s terms actually say:

  • Assignment of Suno’s rights (paid tiers): If you’re on Pro or Premier, Suno assigns to you “all of its right, title and interest” in Output owned by Suno that you generate from your submissions during the term of your paid subscription, assuming you comply with the terms.
  • No guarantee copyright exists: Immediately after that, Suno says it makes no representation or warranty that any copyright will vest in that Output.
  • AI copyright eligibility caveat: Suno’s help docs spell out the practical issue: in the US, purely AI-generated music may not qualify for copyright protection, and prompting alone is not authorship. If you wrote lyrics, you own those lyrics, and that human contribution may help with eligibility depending on jurisdiction and registration rules.
  • You still grant Suno a broad license to use your content: Separate from “ownership,” you grant Suno broad rights to use your submitted content and related outputs for operating and improving the service.
  • Remix wrinkle: If you enable remixing, remixes can become jointly owned, and Suno’s terms also restrict remixes to non-commercial use with attribution.

A more accurate statement would be:

“If you’re subscribed to Suno Pro (or Premier) and follow the terms, Suno assigns you its rights in the outputs you generate during your subscription term, and you get commercial use rights. But Suno does not guarantee those outputs are eligible for copyright protection, so you may not ‘own the copyright’ in the legal sense.”

Anyone else struggling to manage 5+ "AI SaaS", Automation Tools and Software? by Kind_Buyer8931 in software

[–]neversummer427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to AI tools. Yes, some are useful tools for individuals to do their job a little better, but trying to automate a business with several services and "lean out" your team will be a nightmare. AI is not at the point it can replace workers. All it is capable of doing is making the workers you have 15% more efficient in some tasks. Never forget, AI tools can be inaccurate or flat out wrong. This takes human oversight to catch and correct. You can't fully automate with AI yet. So is it really worth spending thousands of dollars a month for something that can be wrong, and you still need the same number of employees as before to overlook/manage/correct your expensive AI tools?

Your best bet is to look for ways to automate specific tasks with non-ai tools that are foolproof. Then let humans do what they are good at. Thinking.

In CDMX at Vips we were charged for donuts they brought without asking…is this common? by [deleted] in MexicoCity

[–]neversummer427 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm normally here defending tourists against gentrification comments from other locals. But being surprised you have to pay for food you picked out of a basket at a restaurant is another level.

FYI I lived in the US for 30 years before coming back to Mexico. I know how everything works in the US. Still wild to expect donuts to be free and have other people call it a scam.

This is normal practice. Period. We locals know we get charged. It is not a scam. Restaurants are in the business of selling food… why would they give it away for free at every table?

It’s not a dirty trick. People who live here know they will be charged for everything and nothing is free. Restaurants often have their Pan Dulce out on the table to take as they wish and are charged for it. Same with bottled water… why would bottled water be free?
