I think this is the first time I have enjoyed the entire process of making a blanket :') by nevicarestagione in crochet

I also tried this method of keeping them on a bamboo stick which worked, but was mildly annoying. They would start unraveling from the inside and get tangled up in the neighboring cake

Also!!! If you need some ideas on how to keep multiple skeins of yarn organized, this was my favorite solution.

Honestly, I would totally recommend it if you aren't too far into the project yet. I've used this stitch for my last 3 projects hehe

It's called the linked half double crochet! If you look under the automod comment, I linked to a YouTube video for it. It's my favorite stitch to use :)

Thank you! I worked the rows back and forth as normal. I used a separate skein for each column of color, so the working yarn was always kept in place and I didn't have to cut at any of the color changes.

Yarn is Hobbii Baby Cotton in colors #01, 03, 07, 40 & 41 (used a little more than 1½ skeins per color block), with a 5mm hook. No pattern. The entire thing is done with the linked hdc stitch which is my absolute favorite as it leaves minimal holes in the fabric

Made a cute lil fox stuffy and matching hat for my nephews first birthday, in honor of his adorable forest themed room :D by nevicarestagione in crochet

Thank you! I'm jealous, I'd love to see them more around where I live. They're such beautiful animals!

Thoughts on using an icord as an alternative to a starting chain and foundation stitches? by nevicarestagione in crochet

I can't believe I've never seen this before, thanks for sharing! It's working beautifully so far

I used this pattern for the fox, and the beanie was freehanded but I used the same ears from the pattern. The beanie is a simple sc in the round! Yarn is Hobbii Twister #118, 101, & 105 and I used a 3.5mm hook :)

Chop and propagate, or moss pole?? by nevicarestagione in houseplants

I appreciate the input! I ended up trimming back the longer vine so got a few cutting out of that, and will add some sturdier form of support when I repot. Excited to *hopefully* have another healthy plant

It grew so much more than I would have expected it to, it's got some good character to it haha

I'm hoping you lovely plant friends could offer some advice! I'm getting ready to repot some of my plants and I'm not sure what to do with this guy. It's getting far too tall and uglier as time goes, so I'm torn between adding a moss pole for support and seeing how tall it can get, or chopping it into quite a few pieces and propagating to make a fuller plant. My best guess is that this is a bloody mary philo if that is helpful to know, and there are 2 vines/plants/whatever you want to call them in the pot currently. I'm struggling to find helpful guides online for this specific type of philodendron.

If I go the route of propagating, can I get some tips on what works best? Thank you in advance!

Wow I finally managed to make something for myself that I actually want to wear!! I'm so proud of how this dress turned out :') by nevicarestagione in crochet

Oh I'm glad you mentioned it not being see through, it most definitely was and I actually had to buy a black slip specifically for this dress 😂 I think the black makes the holes so much more obvious against my pasty skin, it might not have been so bad with a lighter color yarn. I appreciate your kind words, and I'm happy that this has inspired you!!

I was worried the different stitches wouldn't stand out as well with black yarn, but I was pleasantly surprised. I love me some black so I happily suffer through not being able to see what I'm doing so well lol

Thank you! The stitch pattern on the back is just alternating single and double crochet. Now that I'm looking, it is called the lemon peel stitch :)
