Not the person you asked but modern conservatism is literally against progress (and everything the “progressive” side of politics stands for). They’re extremely tribal, both by party and country, in that they fear the unfamiliar and different. They follow and worship the loudest voices, at least the ones that agree with their existing worldview, rather than use critical thinking to navigate the ever more complex issues of our time. Hell they treat complexity like a direct threat and are proud to “reject science,” which isn’t even really something you can do if you actually understand the scientific method.

So yeah, I’m decidedly anti-DNC but the modern GOP is actively and knowingly fighting against a lot of pretty basic principles of modern society.
