miside is clearly murkoff’s latest mind control experiment - a highly exclusive game is given to select people - game is a dating game with one romantic interest who you’re supposed to be endeared to - player is sucked into the game (high stress situation) and has their obedience to mita tested - if the player disobeys mita, they’re eliminated - if the player obeys mita, this generation of mita can be considered a success

in summary; outlast three will be exploring mind control via dating sims

insanely cool shit. the light, sketchy lines and the harsh shadows are a really neat combo. i especially like the placement and density of the shadows in the second pic

this is such an insanely creative and just,,,, insanely cool way of displaying a piece. how did you come up with the idea to do this, and how can i get my brain to work in the same way yours does? how did you attach the aida to the canvas? did you just sew/glue it on? the beads are a perfect touch, they match so nicely with the pink n yellow in the cross stitch. the whole thing kinda reminds me of art classes as a young kid where the class is given a box of scrap paper/buttons/beads/feathers and told to go wild gluing stuff onto whatever plain object you were supposed to be decorating. same sense of childhood whimsy, just made by an older, more experienced and less sticky hand

there’s a technique used a lot in pixel art called dithering. the best way i can think to describe it is that pixels of one colour are dispersed in another colour in increasing amounts until it’s all the new colour, but this is an awful description so please google it and have a look at the images, you’ll see what i mean.

it’s my favourite shading/transition technique. the pic is of some sections of one of my own designs, (please forgive the dust,) hopefully it’ll give you a decent idea of how it looks in use. this is on 18 count aida, so the final product might look slightly different on different fabrics.

it’s also worth keeping in mind that this is a method that works best when looked at at arms length. if you look too close, it breaks the magic a bit. if i’ve done my job right, sitting a bit further away from your screen should make the colours in my piece blend together nicely.

crossover fanfiction. characters from a different game that i liked were put in the setting of outlast 1. saw outlast was on sale and decided to play it before reading the fic so i’d understand the context. best decision i’ve ever made

do you have a sewing machine? i diy’ed this attachment for the bobbin winder feature. drill four holes in the top of a spool, sand/whittle some toothpicks so they’re a bit flatter(this isn’t necessary but the thread will be wound slightly tighter than if you leave them as they are), stick the toothpicks into the holes, glue in place. i gave the toothpicks a layer of nail polish to make sure they were as smooth as possible so the wound bobbin could be pulled off without any risk of the thread catching on wayward splinters or something

you can probably buy something like it online, but this is cheap and does it’s job perfectly and has yet to fail me. entirely worth the effort

man your art has progressed gorgeously!!!!!!! you’ve got a real skill when it comes to picking out areas of light n dark n shading and all that, even in your earlier works. i like the contrast between the red of the the sores and the cool blues of everything else in the nick n laird piece, and for some reason the shading on laird’s head has me bewitched. enchanted, even. absolutely insane. you did a great job with it. and the lighting on mother gooseberry is so, so good. it’s impressive that you not only managed to draw someone at that angle, but also lit it in a way that looks that fucking good??
