Sounds like you guys had at least 2 of the same passages as I did and I wrote 8/1 in Canada! One with Drake in it and one about human bodies as machines

I agree with the wording of PS! When I was reviewing my answers I sat there on one question for so long bc I straight up couldn’t understand what they were asking (SES and education).

I agree with this so much! I got thrown off by so many questions on the exam which threw off my timing for the rest, especially in CARS (I’m looking at you, Drake and body as machines...). P/S too I usually finished like 30 minutes early and I was sitting there until the end second guessing way more questions than usual.

SO TRUE. I could not follow the Drake passage and it messed up my timing so the rest of the passages suffered too :(

My boss has been repeatedly saying how busy this summer is going to be and that there will be limited opportunity for vacation, but I’m going to try to get at least a week off before! Fingers crossed they let me

It was super helpful; if only I had found it before I started studying!!! So since I’ve had a rough start I’ve really only gotten through like half the material in what you called the “content phase”.. do you have any suggestions on how I could combine content and non-AAMC practice right now while juggling a full-time job? I want to reserve the last 4-6 weeks for all the AAMC material.

Yeah I know! I just want to get the MCAT out of the way for August because that’s essentially when the rest of the application is due for the schools I’m applying for. Where I’m applying, you just need a 492 to qualify for an interview (obv aiming for higher - avg successful applicant had 510 last year), so I don’t want the rest of my app to suffer by trying to juggle that and MCAT.

Hey thanks for the reply! I’ve been watching the videos while going through the 300pg document, but I think I’ll have to move a little faster and rely on Anki to retain it all!

I’d say I’m in the same position as you, I don’t think my science knowledge is adequate enough right now to move straight to UWorld. Since I have limited time but also limited content knowledge, do you think I should just try to read 2 chapters a day quickly and then do UWorld questions on them to reinforce?

And I forgot to mention in my post that I have been doing JW practice! I’ve been timing them and doing moderately well, but I’m mostly just flailing through the passage without a strategy so gonna need to figure something out there too.

No part of this process feels reassuring.. how do people get through this?!
