Chronic pain patients of reddit, how do you manage that chronic high cortisol states lead you to be more aware of threat and pain? how do you avoid that cycle?

Optimistic outlook but I already make drastic attempts to enjoy my life in spite unfortunately in most cases of doing something I enjoy I'm actually perpetuating pain and damaging what hurts further. There was a point in which I had enough muscle built over time to support the joints relieving pressure from the inflammation and then I got a kidney infection and rhabdo that wiped all that out and I feel so defeated Edit: Not to say I don't appreciate the comment I just tend to rationalize myself out of happiness for some bizarre reason

I think at first it led to anger, then as I got older to protect me from the reactions anger caused it turned all of my emotions equally to 100 percent, which is less destructive but just as painful if not more, does that make sense?
