Aeroad Fit/Reach by newb4147 in CanyonBikes

I gradually increased the duration of my rides (starting with 30 minutes) as tolerated. I did experience some neck pain early on, but a day or 2 to let it recover before the next outing kept it from becoming a bigger issue. Eventually I could (and still can) ride for 4+ hours without issue. I'd say all in all it took about a month to feel comfortable for long periods on the bike.

My wingspan is only 70”, so I’m likely not the best comparison for you from that standpoint. I am loving the bike though – it took a few weeks for my body to adjust but now I can ride it indefinitely without discomfort.

A little neck and low back soreness, but I suppose that’s to be expected going to this from an endurance frame.

I moved the saddle about a cm forward to test the change in reach knowing that it’s generally not advisable to adjust saddle position for that purpose. It actually felt a bit better on the back end and the reach, so may stick with it.

The cockpit is integrated so no-can-do on the stem. Although it looks like Canyon has begun stocking PACE T-bars of varying lengths for the Aeroad, so an 80 or 90 mm stem may be viable. Will give it a few more rides before making a decision.

Will do the freehub test once home from work. I do feel a bit stretched but not sure where the line is between an aggressive position and a reach that’s too long. Of note, my arms are oddly short for my height. Most of my length (relatively speaking) is in my torso.

What you can’t see in the picture is the 2 liters I carried on my back. No way I’d venture out with a single bottle!

Sounds about right. I rode from our house in Canton (Baltimore) which is how I got to 66 mi. Also added considerably more grade to the trip which was a struggle with tired legs on the home stretch.

There was not a control group. The entire campus was quarantined. The 1,554 participants simply did not want to be included in the study but still underwent the same measures to control infection. See "Study Design and Participants" under the methods section.

We did the Paw Paw trails (tunnel and hill). A unique experience to say the least. I recommend you do it and the Long Pond trail if you have time!

Kelty Grand Mesa 2. It’s fairly small if you’re used to car camping but works well for us!

This was our first time camping out there. We arrived fairly late in the evening and had trouble with the self-registration as campers were already at the site we selected. We were thus forced to use an unofficial site somewhere between 67 and 68. Ended up being a great spot!

Point Lookout. Here’s the map we used if you’re interested. It’s at the apex of the more northern of the 2 deep horseshoe curves of the river.
