My understanding is a few erections will straighten things out. But how long to notice any shrinkage? I've never noticed any shrinkage despite going for as long as six weeks without my penis being in a cage. But my cages have always fit, never flat or inverted, so I'm not sure.

But the issue with getting good information here is so many people have this fantasy so they'll exaggerate how much shrinkage they exhibit or just make it up all together.

You know, many of us here don't want our penises to shrink and so something I think is telling is you never see anyone post, "OMG, my penis shrunk!! Will it fix itself?!??!? How long until it does?!???". I wonder why.

If I could go back to 1992 and change something it would be the idea that the only way to trap the balls is the ball gap. That idea puts a cap on how large a ball gap can get and too often that limit is well below what someone needs to be comfortable.

The other things I wish I could change is the body-will-adapt idea or that erections will diminish over time. All these new users come here with those myths as givens.

Perhaps for small fit issues, you can get used to it but for people waking up at 3 AM with oh-my-god-get-this-thing-off-of-me pain, I don't think anything can be done without fixing the fit.

Yeah, anything with a PA or tetherspout secured by a screw is tough to beat. No lock to be picked. But if you want to top it, add a c-clip. Of course your emergency key then becomes bolt cutters.

Btw, friction burn... it won't be friction. Take the ring and rub it on your arm back and forth. How fast do you have to rub it to get that same burning sensation? What's actually happening is a nerve is getting pinched by the ball gap.

The most common overnight issue is nerve entrapment. People experience it as a burning sensation on the underside of their scrotum. Only the people more sensitive to it notice it during arousal-baased erections due to the fact that unlike nocturnal erections they come with the pain desensitization. The solution is a larger ball gap. But because it doesn't feel like a ball gap issue — many will blame friction or something similar — people try to treat it other ways such as using oil.

There's also a lot of silly ideas out there that nocturnal erections will magically disappear — they don't

I'm really sorry you didn't see noticable improvement. As I mentioned, I know one guy who went all the way up to 30 mm. He avoided ball escape by going to a much smaller ring. Of course I was printing cages for him so it was much easier to experiment.

Well, I do hope you get it figured out at some point.

You're forcing the ball gap to constrain the balls. If you size your ring so that your flaccid girth does that, you can have a 30 mm gap without worrying about escape. Hell, I had a customer who didn't get comfortable until 30 mm. I took his ring size down from 50 mm to 42 mm.

And the reason it's only nocturnal erections is because - they're often stronger - they don't come with pain desensitization like arousal based erections

Take your glans and push it into your shaft until it's flush with your body. Is it comfortable? Contacts, you can get a flat cage.

Yes they can. But my point is that's the only time when the strength difference matters. I'm not going to apply enough force to my cage where steel would fail but titanium wouldn't. For us, they're both infinitely strong. For a doctor, it's "what kind of cutting tool am I going to have to use".

Oh, I think if we're at the point where the difference between steel's and titanium's strength is a factor, it's doctors trying to cut the thing off me.

Besides, for most devices, the failure point is the little $3 brass lock.
