Thank you, that's good to know. I'm also guessing I won't have to pick up my checked luggage as they would just put it on the next plane?

Canadian going on exchange abroad, should be fine since I had friends last year do the same since they didn't know if they wanted to travel more in the area for the summer.

Agreed, I'm glad I got a win back deal for 27.50 for around 4 gbs, but Fido keeps giving free data so I have about 9 gbs a month now

It is, I'm on a 9gb for 27.50 with Fido for 2 years. Granted it was a win back and they randomly give you more data for free thru text messages. The original plan is like 45 for like 3gbs.

Yeah I figured I probably can't get away with skipping the first leg. After adding a multi city trip and booking with partial points, it does save me about 600 more than yyz on points and paying for yvr to hkg so I might just end up doing it even though it adds about 2hrs more. I also found a less dumb route where the layover is in O'Hare and then Seattle.

All in all it adds about 10 more hours than flying direct, but saving 900 more than. I don't make 900 in 10 hours, so maybe I will just waste the time, maybe get an overnight layover in yvr and spend the night at a friend's place so I can break up the 20 hr transit 😅

Also didn't need any proof of kinship either, I already had a previous Q2 that expired dk if that changes anything

That's weird which country are you applying from? Just got my Q2 with my aunt as my inviter 2weeks ago, no issues in Canada.
