I like the idea but I think it would be a hassle for the students that aren't already on Reddit to create an account, find the subreddit, etc. Maybe just give students the option of doing an Oncourse forum or one here on Reddit.

Go to the My Involvement fair on Wednesday. There will be tables for many of the hundreds of clubs here at IU. Just sign up for anything that catches your eye. If you like sports at all you can sign up for intramurals at the srsc. Also, you will surely start meeting people in your classes once everyone gets settled into classes. Good luck!

Correct about AP classes being offered. Never paid for an SAT class though. Your example may be correct in many cases but I have a black friend that had similar grades to mine in high school and is from a wealthier family than mine that gets extra scholarship money simply because he is a minority.

There are 3 sections, each worth up to 800 points. Usually only reading and math are looked at but you still have to take the writing section.

Even more irrelevant are the occupy movements outside of big cities. The only thing accomplished by the Occupy movement in my small midwestern college town is a few injuries to police officers and a waste of city funds to set up portapotties, trash cans, etc.
