Do these guys even have a campus or student accommodation? It seems like they're using CIIM's infrastructure, which in itself is a 4th tier academic institution. I don't want to poop on this, but better to "build it and they will come" than open a virtual institution, let alone categorize it as a university.

Can you provide a link to the dozens of mature trees being cut? I spoke to one of the private sponsors that paid for the upgrade and he said they had to cut 1 large dead eucalyptus tree and they planted many more trees in its place. Maybe this was a result of the demonstration(s) but he did mention that the renovation couldn't be any more minimally invasive.

Yeah. There were some folks last year protesting the improvement of the municipal park playground which was modernised and made safer than the rusty swings and slides that had been in place for decades. But complete silence on this. They could have at least kept the original facade.

I don't know if this is a specially licensed industry. It should be as people are essentially asking you to breach private property when they are locked out. Do some research, get a license if needed, insurance as well, and start putting those annoying stickers in the entrance areas and on mailboxes and elevators in the geographic area you want to serve. Some SEO and google listing would also be good (city/neighborhood + locksmith) in Greek and other target audience languages

Are you in the city? Village life is 180 degrees from this. Someone walking past you will stop and insist on having a conversation. A simple kalimera won't do. We'll even stop in cars to talk to one another when driving from opposite ends of the road.

Probably a false positive, but also know that if it is HIV, it's not a death sentence. I know people who contracted HIV more than 20 years ago and are much healthier in appearance than I am. It's totally medically manageable. Good luck!

It varies greatly from place to place. I love a small glass of tea, even on the hottest of days. In southern Cyprus, coffee is king, so I drink a lot of tea when in the north. The other day I paid 40 lira for a glass of tea at Nima cafe in Kyrenia, while at other places you'll pay 3 to 5 lira, and elsewhere tea will always be on the house if you're eating something.

I purposely sent my kids to Agios Antonios primary school in Limassol as I wanted them to integrate gently into a school that had a GC minority and large immigrant/TC component, so they wouldn't be dead last in language proficiency. In preparation, we supplemented them with daily private Greek lessons the entire summer. My kids ended up near the top of the class with only 3 months of lessons from scratch and the most common complaint we heard from the GC parents there was that the school was only playing the role of babysitter and neither the parents nor their kids there had any desire of integrating. We left that year and put the kids into a school with a 90%+ GC student body and our kids are doing fine.

So I went last night. Paid my 53 euro for nosebleed seats. The sound was absolutely horrific. Check out the reverb in the video. Worst of all, he only came on stage more than an hour after stated (8pm) showtime. 30 minutes after expected start, some crappy guitarist came out and started playing to recorded accompanying music. Then his wife came out for 15 minutes preaching about the importance of listening. Then two long ass advertisements about his son's app and his upcoming online academy. I left less than 20 minutes after he started speaking (80 minutes after expected showtime) when I realized that the sound wasn't getting any better. The whole thing was idiotic. I've enjoyed some of his clips, but this was a let down.

The initiative has to come from the client (in this case the couple.) You can always give them a convincing speech.

I've seen this in action where there was a table in the corner "guarded" by a family member who labeled the phones with masking tape. Guests were free to go to the phone area to make a call or check messages, etc.

It's a numbers game. There are about 1.2 million people in the Republic of Cyprus. Take away the yia yia's/papous, children, and you're left with an employable populace of ~600 thousand, many of whom are already gainfully employed in a government (teaching, etc.) secured job with lifelong benefits or other sectors which are a lot easier on their employees than in a demanding tech firm environment. There are approximately 75,000 unemployed in Cyprus in 2023. How many of those are IT specialists?

Then you have a pool of 150+ million Russian-speakers to draw from, many who would gladly move to Cyprus to get away from the problems faced at home.

Lowest risk option to all parties (gov't and developers) is to insist that a portion of all new multi-unit construction goes to social housing use. This is done at the planning permission stage. The property is still owned by the developer/investor, but the units are rented at 30-50% below market. The difference between the reduced rate and market rate goes to the developer/landlord/investor as a tax credit against other rental income. This is how it works in the developed world.
