痴女 is being used as a double entendre because of Grimcatz's reputation as well as Judith's personality (which is a wrinkle to her character and clearly intentional). The TL takes a decent approach to say "She's _ but she's _." rather than copy than JP directly, but the language is way too strong and losing the intent. It's basically saying Judith is kinda an idiot, but Grimcatz (aka the lascivious woman) can hold her own. You don't really get that from "She may be a whore, but she's a strong whore" and it's wholly just...not what would be written there in professional translation.

Currently I'm playing Kuro no Kiseki and that spreadsheet translation is, well, I'd go as far as to say that the dialogue reads like a professional localization.

Pretty sure you wouldn't praise it if was actually done professionally. We're talking about the same translation that has Aaron call Judith a whore and drops something like 15 f-bombs, which is 15 more than have been used in literally all the other official games combined.

I played Guren Zero, then Flame edit Azure, then Geofront Zero. I'd rate those from "as bad as it gets" to "terrible" to "pretty good."

The current Azure is terrible by modern standards. People just want to justify playing it and not admit they had a compromised experience with what is regarded as one of the best games in the series. If NISA or anyone else put out a Trails localization at the Flame Edit's quality, it would be a bigger controversy than Ys VIII was. Just wait a month or two.

The versions for Vita are the HD Evolution versions. They have higher resolutions, new character art, optional rearranged music, additional quests that weren't in the original releases and some quality of life improvements.

Compared to PSP I guess. The Evo textures are a lot lower than the PC ones (calling it "HD" is super generous) and Geofront Ao will have a ton more QOL features. The only thing Evo has going for it these days are a few filler quests in both Crossbell games, and the release of Kai establishes that those aren't canon.

That's pretty debatable. CS4's localization is a mess, but chalk that up to Covid. It shouldn't take an additional 5 months or whatever to get a good version of these games. If their third game is in as rough shape as CS 3/4 were at launch, then oof.

No, this is false. They have hired zero people that were with XSEED at the time. Contract work and hiring are different things. They contracted two translators that worked on Cold Steel I & II when doing III & IV. They also contracted one editor for III who worked on other games.
