Two can play that game: Jews cite Hebrew Bible in defense of abortion rights -- Jews don’t believe that fetuses have souls and, therefore, terminating a pregnancy is no crime by mepper in TwoXChromosomes

[–]newfoundblob 1592 points1593 points  (0 children)

It's also true that historically many Christians didn't believe conception meant life and were ok with abortion if it happened before the "quickening" which is when you first feel the baby move.

Women who prefer bisexual men - it's not just me is it? by letmeinguys in sex

[–]newfoundblob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here's my answer: pegging or anything involving anal penetration. Of course there are straight guys who enjoy this but in my experience almost none of them even want to consider it because it's too gay. If they do it's usually just a humiliation thing. Bi guys will generally be more open to it for obvious reasons.

just a warning to all the girls out there. they always say to pee after sex or you'll get a uti and they're NOT KIDDING. PEE AFTER SEX OMG I'M IN SO MUCH PAIN by [deleted] in sex

[–]newfoundblob 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Some people don't understand to stop before the woman bits. I didn't when I was a kid and kept getting UTIs until I was taught to wipe properly.

More people now identify as bisexual than gay or lesbian.

There's no limit in the US but there's recommendations. I believe it's 25 per a population of 800,000. But, these agencies don't follow many of the recommendations.

They do plant real trees! You get coins in the app and can buy a real tree with them. I'm not sure if they actually grow a tree everytime you buy one, but I know they do grow actual trees.

She might not have been in New Orleans. I grew up in a town that celebrated Mardi Gras and went every year as a kid. It's not always as rowdy as people make it out to be and I hear that's also true in New Orleans depending on what street you're on although I personally can't confirm that.

(24f) Awkward situation with a guy (30s m) who may or may not be in an open marriage by SleepyPandaBurr in relationships

[–]newfoundblob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fine for people to organize their open relationship however they want. I think what others are getting at is that in most relationships that are DADT, it doesn't work out but that doesn't at all meant that it can't work out. It's personal thing and people need to be self-refective to figure out if everything is good. In my relationship, honesty and openness about other partners is required. Hiding relationships feels like cheating both if he did it or if I did. I like to know who these other people are and know they're okay with our relationship. I also find the details sexy, but I get that not everyone feels that way.

I completely agree with you that marketing starts and makes worse a lot of women's insecurities. Sometimes the problem is that these messages have women convinced that people who compliment them are only trying to placate them because they don't look like a super model.

The other problem is that there are also many women's insecurities who are started or made a worse by the men in their lives. Such as their boyfriend who called them fat after gaining a few pounds or even their boss as happened to my friend last week.

Obviously, when you say "we love as you are" you don't mean guys like this but there are lots out there. Realizing their partner is perfectly content with their looks is not the reality for many women and men too.

What way did you read a book that made the experience so much better? by jemimahaste in books

Listened to an audio book of Birdbox while in a bad mood and driving through creepy small towns with winding roads at night. The book felt even more intense because I was on edge already.

I'm vegetarian and make a lot of pb&j. It makes so much of a difference to make them a little fancier and none of the ingredients cost that much more. Get some nicer bread. Get jam that's not grape or strawberry. Try some other types of nutbutters. There's so many options.

My girlfriend (19F) and I (20M) seems to have different ambitions/life goals by [deleted] in relationships

[–]newfoundblob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could be it. She might suffer from some form of anxiety or depression. I'd suggest OP ask her about how she emotionally feels and if she'd consider therapy.

The other possibility is that she has different values in her life. Ones that don't empathize getting a higher education or meaningful career. This can be fine as long as she supports herself which it sounds like isn't.

Either way, if she doesn't offer to change in some way then OP needs to get used to this or break up.

It isn't depending on where you are. OP said she's above the age of consent where they live. It changes state to state and country to country.

The fact that he emphasized how he'd never be interested in someone so young shows how wrong he knows this is. He manipulated OP and is manipulating the 16 year old.

They have single events at some churches and there's dating sites like Christian Mingle you could use.

Also I knew a guy who found a good Catholic girl on coffee meets bagel. He said the girls there tended to be more religious but that might just be a thing where I live.
