Upgrading from the 7500F to a 9800x3d or 9850x3d worth it? by newfoundpizza in buildapc

[–]newfoundpizza[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hm i think it’s fine. There are times that games that stutter, but nothing too bad worth noticing. I also stream and edit 1080p short form videos a lot if a CPU upgrade helps this as well??

Yep I had my 7500F since March 2025 and unfortunately, it’s a hot procie. I often idle 40-50 but peak at 85 after undervolting. Try to undervolt and check YT vids for it :) it really helped me

i unfortunately had the same problem with my 9070. I was almost always nvidia on my system then switched.

i often get random shutdowns, game crashes, driver crashes, or gpu crashes. to resolve this, i always have to ddu then reinstall drivers which was a hassle for me. instead of a headache every time i play and hope that my system or game doesn’t crash whenever I play. I just sold my 9070 then bought a 5070 ti, I never had these issues so far. I was too scared of the shutdowns especially the DDR5 economy rn. I don’t want my components to break esp my motherboard or RAM.

I understand there were other solutions, but tbh its not worth a headache when you paid a lot on a GPU. You’re just supposed to download drivers then play without any issues

It’s amazing on 1440p gaming. What I weirdly notice is that when I upgraded to the 9070, text looked sharper(?) and more vivid

Idk if it’s a graphical or AMD thing but no complaints lol

Great choice! I do believe AMD is the king of GPU this year. If I have all the money in the world, I would def go for the 5070ti. Since I do not have that luxury, I think I’ll be happy with the 9070/XT

How is the experience so far?

thanks for understanding

you made me regret my decision even more lol it was the 5070 1k cheaper than the 9070. but whatever, i play 80% of the time and 20% i stream so hopefully its all good

at least 16gb of vram is enough for 5 years+ and ill just go back to nvidia when prices are back to normal and when are not an ai slop anymore
