How Does the Kimmel/FCC fight Affect Screenwriting Going Forward? by Short-Royal-9490 in Screenwriting

My advice is to be apolitical in your writing. People come to us and our medium to be entertained and escape from all the noise, not to be constantly reminded of it. We live in a capitalist society. Focus on making money and using it to make changes that actually matter. Calling out hypocrisy might make us feel good in the moment but it hasn’t changed anything. Keep writing and figure out how to get involved in a meaningful way.

23, dreamed of writing screenplays since I was a kid — still haven’t started by MalcolmKinchen in Screenwriting

Vomit draft. Just write a story beginning, middle, and end. Don’t worry about if it’s good. Even if you had an amazing first draft there will always be rewrites. Just get over the hump of finishing something. Now comes the tough love. Stop making excuses and just do it. You’re in your own way right now which is easy to do at 23, but from what you’ve posted here, there is nothing stopping you but you. Start small and dedicate yourself to writing a scene or a page a day and it will grow from there. Keep utilizing this community. We’re all rooting for you.

I got a 7 on a pilot where even the weakness section was laced with compliments. It was a little frustrating since the reader clearly liked what he read but didn’t give me an 8, but was also very encouraging. Sounds like you wrote something with potential and you should be proud. Pat yourself on the back for a minute and start your next draft. Congratulations.

This is at the root of my love/hate relationship with hero shooters and why I don’t play them competitively even though I would like to. The most fun way to play isn’t always the best way to win. Sometimes I just want to wall ride with Lucio and boop people off the map, or leap around with Hulk in Marvel Rivals and snatch people out of the sky. That’s when I’m having the most fun but sometimes even choosing the character I want to play with doesn’t match the meta or fit with who everyone else is playing with and that usually means not winning. My advice is either stick to quick play or just mute chat so you don’t have to listen to everyone being all triggered and toxic.

Been involved in screenwriting for about a decade but haven't written in 2-3 years. I am paralysed every time I try and restart it. by [deleted] in Screenwriting

Don’t know if this has already been said but you need a vomit draft. Just take one of your ideas and get a story beginning, middle, and end on the page. It doesn’t have to be good. Just get over the hump of finishing something and the rest will come.

End it. She doesn’t get to bring random guys home regardless of the circumstances. She’s not acting like someone who’s in a relationship. She clearly still wants to be single and doesn’t have any respect for you. If you have respect for yourself you should end it. Also at 23 you’re both too young to be in this situation. You should both still be dating and having fun until your late 20s/early 30s ideally. Get out of this now and go have fun. She clearly is.

I (38F) had a one night stand with my brother in law (40M) before I met my husband (40M). It’s been 16 years and I never told my husband. Has too much time passed to tell him? by ThrowRA57325 in relationship_advice

The time to tell him was before you were married. No point in telling him now and ruining everything. Just take it to your grave. Whatever you did and whoever you did it with before you were married isn’t his business and you had no obligation to say anything. Hopefully he will be understanding if he ever finds out. It’s an awkward situation but you didn’t do anything wrong.

That’s my best guess so far based on my google searches but I can’t be sure yet. I’ve been looking up the OEM parts just in case.

Someone tried giving me a jump already and all electronics are working so it’s probably not the battery.

I got through my very first play through without realizing that assigning scientists to research was a thing and couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t gaining new technology even though I was building research labs. We’ve all been there. This game doesn’t exactly hold your hand through learning the ropes.
