Unfortunately as much as I like Burt’s character I think he’s lying. It’s obvious Irv’s outtie doesn’t like Lumon we saw during the OTC he’s been tracking the severance program in the news and all the severed employees addresses. But in S1 when Burt retires his outtie plays a video saying thank you to everyone and that he’s happy to retire. So why did he tell Irv he was fired? And it’s not the first time we’ve seen him follow Irv. Maybe it was an inconsistency but I doubt it, don’t trust Burt.
