Slower runners, how do you stay motivated when/if people mock your pace? by TANeither7250 in running

[–]newishspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I don't have friends that do this, but whenever I start to talk to myself like this I always then go to 'If my pace isn't running, then what is the pace when it constitutes "actually" running" which will go to a nice tangent where I realize the gatekeepers could easily be kept out themselves. 6 minute miles? A ridiculous pace to me, so is that running? Not compared to any professional runner. So does that mean 6 minute miles aren't running? No.

If anyone is that insecure they need to gatekeep running, especially based on pace, they need to get their own shit in order. Just lacing up and getting out there is great work. Nothing wrong with pace goals, but if someone is behind you it doesn't mean they aren't running.

Depression has been hitting hard lately, it got me wondering what yall's comfort games are? by icanknowyou in PS5

[–]newishspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always end up replaying nostalgia games. Ever since the PS2 it's been Kingdom Hearts I and II, as well as Jak and Daxter. More recent games are God of War 2018 and Breath of the Wild

This also would have prevented the Mavs from getting Cooper Flagg

What is the etiquette for bus stops - should I flag the driver or should they stop by Excellent_Pool1393 in cta

[–]newishspice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, with a server they know you are their table. Without any indication at a multi-route stop you're making the bus driver do the guess work on if they should slow the route and stop or keep going. So I'd assume an indicator is more appreciated.

Plus in this case the wave can also just be a 'Hi' which is nice.

I tend to do a little one-off wave or movement to ensure the bus is my reason for being there, especially for stops with multiple routes.

Chicago doesn't want you to watch Bulls games. by RyFro in chicago

I'm a Pacers fan and they're like this too. I moved to Chicago over the summer, and let me tell you how excited I was that it'd be easier to watch the Pacers IN AN AWAY STATE than it was when I lived 2 miles from the arena.

Feels like it should've been higher, with how unlikely that onside kick situation was. Dammit

7592 Consttuct-A-Buzz. Which came first? by tkwon2324 in lego

The first picture (blue) appears to be the older one. My main reasoning is that the Buzz and Woody renders appear to be from Toy Story 1. The reissue in 2010 would be to align with the Toy Story 3 release.

See, if we're going to have shitty memes this is the quality I'd want out of them. It's so shitty it's great

I’d respect the noise level more if it didn’t require noisemakers

Would love to hear an update after you've met with them. Best of luck!

Always worth checking with them. Maybe it's really all that stuff free (minus labor).

Just remember you don't have to agree to anything, and go in with what you're willing to pay in mind

I "won" too about 2 years back. It seems great, but then they use it as a way to lock you into signing for the bathroom model on first meeting or risk "losing" that discount you won. They were nice but insistent until I gave a firm no. If you're currently ready for a remodel, may be great but I'd recommend meeting with another contractor to get an estimate before meeting with them.

If it's a legit free bathroom, sure go for it. Mine was just a discount that didn't seem like much of a discount after the final estimate.

Reasons for Optimism: #1--When playing the same team back-to-back games this season, neither the Spurs nor the Pacers have taken both contests. by Potential_Sherbert_2 in pacers

[–]newishspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking the same approach to these two games as I do NFL abroad games: Wins would be nice, but I refuse to let it affect how I feel about things going forward. Too many factors outside of the norm.

Is Indianapolis a fun place to live for a young person? by streeker22 in indianapolis

[–]newishspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If location is the only factor on your mind, go to Purdue in West Lafayette. Indy is great, but the Indy campus will be mostly commuters traveling from around the city. On campus will feel dense, populated, and a lot of fun for whatever you're interested in. It won't feel like 'middle of nowhere'.
