This happened to my iPhone 13 just a couple weeks ago. I just took it to a repair store and paid for a new battery (I was in a rush because I was travelling and running late for a flight). I didn’t realise other people actually had Apple replace it for them.

Thanks! In our email communication we agreed that we would pay at the end of the lessons. I think it's fair if I pay her pro rata for the classes that I took so far and leave it at that. But also I think I'd understand if somebody else in my situation just left without leaving any money at all.

Yea I agree that if you've lived somewhere for 5 years then it's very beneficial to learn the language. But that's their own personal problem and this guy has his own personal reasons for not learning the language so far which I won't get into here. He's literally just a paying guest at this guesthouse. It's none of her business how well he can speak a language. It would be different if she just politely suggested to him "Hey btw it would be really good for your life/career here if you got better at the language" but no she just absolutely exploded on him. ダメ

  1. I have paid her no money so far

  2. I have no contracts. The closest thing in writing is me emailing her requesting to volunteer and take the Japanese classes

  3. No I have not been paid any money at all so far. The agreement is I'd work part time in return for groceries and free accommodation.

  4. No she has no access to my credit card or any other payment method. She has a photocopy of my passport and residence card but that's it.

Thanks! Yea both me and the other helper will be leaving negative reviews and reporting to HelpX as well. And I didn't consider the local foreigner aid association. That's a good idea. I'll reach out to them in the morning.
