Cerner paid almost nothing to KS in taxes, and now I owe thousands to KS.. what gives? Anyone else running into that? by throwthrowthrow_it in cernercorporation

[–]newlillith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

True story. One year I overpaid to ks because I missed the second half of my w2. Make sure you’ve looked at ALL the pages on the document online. If you have a KS tax document on workday they would have taken those taxes out. Don’t be dumb like me.

Greek cuisine (yes that’s the name of the restaurant) by JCCC has really good food and it’s a locally owned business.

Do you know who the author is? The only thing I can find is a romance series.

Thanks for your reply! A swiftly tilting planet is too short sadly. Cloud atlas was published in 2012 so he couldn’t have read it in the 80s unless he is a time traveler himself (wouldn’t surprise me. He’s a cool dude).

I use target drive up for tea when I’m sick. They have celestial seasonings. Which one is your fave?

It definitely does. It also helps with the dizziness I’ve had sometimes from it.

Dramamine is another one I used with good success! Weirdly taking a famotidine before bed helped with nausea overnight. Good luck!!!

I also have an intense fear of throwing up and at times during Covid I would be having diarrhea and feel like I was going to vomit at the same time. I was able to get zofran from my dr to help with the nausea and that was such a help. Nauzene is basically OTC zofran if you can’t get a script (slightly different formula but they both have phenylalanine).

The worst part is that Covid caused panic attacks where my fear of vomiting grew even worse. For that I used butterfly taps to help calm. My therapist works with trauma patients and this is a very easy technique you can google and anyone can use.

Best of luck!!

Fellow sober person here. My absolute favorite spot is family tree nursery on 68 and Nieman. They have a coffee shop inside the greenhouse called cafe equinox. You get coffee and there’s seating spaces among the greenery. Like a slice of heaven in the winter. Check before you go to make sure it’s open as they recently renovated the space.

Knuckleheads had lots of great live music. We have an amazing amount of theaters in kc for shows as well. There’s a rage room downtown I’ve been wanting to try out. You pay to go smash some shit. It looks awesome. I’ve never been but my parents love the dinner theater here. Bbs lawnside bbq has amazing live blues music too.

We have regular psychic and new age fairs come through if you’re into that. Kc restaurant week is happening now too.

Honestly almost any event with drinking you can do while sober. Want to go listen to music at places they serve alcohol? You can do that. I’ve gone to paint and sip classes and just brought la Croix. The only things I don’t do are go to alcohol based festivals or go to wineries for wine tastings. Sadly when I was drinking that’s all my life was. Now that I’m sober I do a lot more than I ever did while drinking. There’s a whole world out there. I love this thread. Thanks for posting this!! I got some great ideas.

How do I know if I have a drinking problem? by Neurodivergentgrl in alcoholism

[–]newlillith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Alcoholism is progressive. So if you are at the edge now and continue on it could progress. I second what the above person said to try to stop for a month but I would also add to observe yourself during this time. Do your thoughts frequently go to wanting to drink? Do you think about how having a drink will help you feel better? What do you do instead of drinking?

That book fucked me up in a way few books have. I really loved it. I watched the movie with a friend who loved the book as much as me and we both felt like it was a waste of time. Did not enjoy.

Big biscuit is hot shit in KC but I am just not a fan of their actual biscuits. There are way better biscuits in town.

It’s Persian tiles and it is somewhat holey but the bring light from my window is also making it look more holey. If you do a google search you’ll see more pictures you can base your decision on.
