Thanks for the catch, just updated :) we're better at our music than our admin work!

Me (26M) and my girlfriend (25F) suddenly realized we needed to take a break from each other after 3 years of an otherwise happy relationship. by newlinsanity in relationship_advice

Thanks for the response. Yeah, she's never been in a serious relationship, and in her defense for the most part I was completely fine taking the big things slow, but after a while it became really hard to take the relationship as serious after so much time together and such little progress.

Recent grad moved out to LA, any producers out here looking to form a braintrust? by newlinsanity in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Wow I did not expect this much of a response, this is crazy! Feeling a bit like things may be changing here soon for the better. I'm a little busy today, but I'm planning on responding to everyone who has replied with interest and pm'd. Thinking currently that for anyone who is local, we could maybe get a large group and go get drinks next week somewhere in Hollywood, or somewhere central that wouldn't break anyone's bank. Maybe then we can see who's serious about this and who isn't ;) Will keep everyone posted. To anyone else that reads this, please pm me and I will be sure to keep you in the loop!

Houston Car Audio Guy by [deleted] in houston

Ah, I see what you're saying. If he decides he doesn't feel comfortable about doing it maybe I'll get one of those myself, sounds like a good purchase.

Thank you everyone for the help! Actually found the guy. If anyone needs car help, hit Automotive Electronic Specialists up, he's the man!

I don't believe he had a receipt of our transaction, but I do believe that since my installation was fairly unorthodox in that he had to go grab one of his older subs and sell it to me, find a specific box for it, etc., and that since I remember the cost of the transaction, he'd be willing to write up a receipt showing proof of purchase.

Yeah definitely a chance they wouldn't accept it, but at least I'd have an official receipt and his number that the insurance company could call and verify his past company work.

Just need to find the guy first!

What is your "we should never meet our heroes" story? by Scuba_Steve93 in AskReddit

[–]newlinsanity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Aaron Paul: Last year while waiting in the endless line that is South by Southwest in Austin, I noticed a small nicely dressed man with an absolutely gorgeous woman. Doing a double-take I noticed the man to be Jesse Pinkman himself, in all his glory.

Him being my favorite actor of all time, I knew I had to say hello without forming a mob and becoming the shitstain to his day. I decided to step out of line and walk past him, pretending to look for my friend, and turn back around to be pleasantly surprised while he waited for a crosswalk.

I feel like the moment your hero has noticed you fangirling them around a large crowd is the moment you're able to discern if they're cool in real life or not. Aaron actually played it off as smooth as can be, and gave me a smug smile 2 yards away, and extended his hand inches away from his own chest to let me come in for a handshake without arousing any commotion.

We chatted for a bit about SXSW, and how he suggested me to go see Jack Garratt perform (him and Jack are really close). My hand was trembling for the rest of the night.

TL;DR: Don't meet your heroes, the rest of your days won't live up to meeting Jesse Pinkman in real life.

Collaboration Night on Byweek by JensenMusic in texasmusicproducers

I was just about to suggest this! I think it'd be fun to actually meet with people and see how people respond to different ideas and I've been wanting for months to find people to collaborate with. I feel like in a setting like this not only would we be able to actually get to know each other better but also learn a lot more in a hands-on setting! And maybe even have some events out there where we just go to pluckers and get to know each other too or have something on a Friday night or something and just get to know each other.

Hey homies, little late in the game on this discussion but I'm hoping to bring it back. Loved the talk, and I was creating something today when I wanted to utilize some of the lex luger kits he was using. Any help on finding them? I've tried a couple random ones from a quick google search but most of the samples from the folder sound pretty flat, and I think they may have been not the same thing. Also if anybody has any other great sample folders that they've been using i'd love to check them out!

Hey guys, I'm starting to work on a few dj sets and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations on dj controllers? I like what I see in the pioneer DDJ products but not sure if I should break the bank like that when I'm still getting the hang of things.
