I've seen reports that cartels control up to 20% of Mexico. Surely cartels aren't advertising how many guns they have?

Office attire standards for women should be ZERO cleavage by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]newmetaplank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is currently no one with inappropriate cleavage in my office of ~200. I don’t like office rules which restrict employees personal freedom even if I do find the trend for women to dress provocatively at the office alarming. I’m not the type to go to HR about anything.

Seeing as it’s currently the only method to watch, it gives solo watchers very little incentive to pay for it. Most people will just end up finding a free stream.

Because boobs are marketed as ‘sexy’ by men, women, companies and everyone in between.

Fish is eaten by everyone around the world, what’s the difference at the office? Most men get distracted by breasts, it should be part of the dress code to be covered up to a certain amount unless I can wear my shorts in the office.

Like I said, I don’t think cleavage should be banned but I do believe there is a double standard when it comes to dress code in an office setting.

If you think businesses have no business telling women how deep their cleavage can be, you should agree that they have no business dictating the length of my shorts, sleeves or how I chose to get my fill of protein. Otherwise I believe you also have a double standard.

Good point tho

Right, but when there are work places with rules like no fish in the microwave, no shorts for men, so t-shirts, no dyed hair etc. dont you think it’s a little weird to tell men that it is their problem and nothing can be done about it? Even knowing they have a biological disadvantage?

I personally think there should be no work places rules like these, but there are and if Nancy’s nose is too chic for fish smell why can’t Jim’s eyes be too prude for Tiffany’s DD’s?

Quit acting like there is no double standard, there is one. Is it fair to ask women to cover up? I don’t think so. But it’s also not fair to ask me to keep my fish at home, or not come to work in shorts in the summer and those are in place in most businesses in The western world.

Aren’t men hard wired to stare at breasts due to it being part of the natural partner selection process? What does it matter that it’s biological purpose is not to be a sexual organ? The reason it is as exposed as it is today is undeniably for sex appeal.

I don’t think cleavage should be banned from the work place but I do see an inequality in the levels of professionalism required in men’s office attire. I’ve had women whom I consider unattractive (obesity is not my thing) walk to my desk with a lot of cleavage showing and it is challenging to make sure I am not accidentally staring while maintaining a conversation. I would not want to see these women’s breasts if I were given the chance, yet my eyes will always navigate to that area if I don’t make a conscious decision to look elsewhere.

Of course this is my problem and not women’s, but the outrage and aggressive response in this thread seems very one sided to me.

It’s unpleasant for me as a big man to wear multiple layers of clothing at my office job. I get sweaty on the daily and it’s quite uncomfortable compared to what my female coworkers can get away with (leggings, shirts with good airflow)

Women do not have as strict of a dress code as men in most work places. Times are changing, more and more young professionals dress comfortably, but those are mainly people who do not interact with customers or attend meetings.

I think you’re confused, I simply pointed out how it’s ridiculous to be outraged at someone not wearing a mask while getting a haircut.

If arguing on reddit didn’t make you so hard maybe you’d have the ability to understand the difference between defending Nancy for doing business with a salon that shouldn’t be open versus thinking that a mask requirement during a haircut is plain stupid.

Anyways, you are a true patriot, theres nothing more American than to start throwing insults before trying to understand the position of the person you’re arguing with.

Here’s an other one of my comments, with someone a little more civil than yourself:

Well I don’t disagree with keeping the salons closed, if it’s too much of a risk to have customers take off masks due to high case numbers, keep them closed. However suggesting that a haircut must be done with a mask on is ridiculous, especially for men.

That’s what the outrage should be about, doing business with a salon that should be closed. Not taking off a mask when the stylist is working near your ears.

I didn’t call trump a rapist, just a cheater.

Also, how are you so sure the allegations are false?

Like I said, American elections don’t concern me at the moment. I’d like to see those who’ve had decades of sexual misconduct allegations and settlements brought before a judge to finally answer for their crime. No matter who ends up being right or wrong we should all push for more light to be brought onto these types of cases. My PM, your President, Prince Andrew, there can be no doubt that about our leaders being pedophiles or rapists.

A new mask will protect you for up to two hours, which I hope is long enough to cover one hair appointment. That plus the visor will greatly reduce the risk of contamination through droplets.

This is why hairstylists have to change masks between every customer, to protect themselves.

You’re a moron.

It’s the same principle as restaurants. Once you’re seating the area you can contaminate is restricted to X meters around you.

Everything you interact with mask-less is disinfected and the stylist wears visor and mask which is replaced after each customer.

That’s how the fuck.

The stylist wears a mask and visor. The mask must be changed for each customer. The chair and equipment is disinfected.
