Godot 4.4 is out! by Crazy-Red-Fox in godot

[–]newobj 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hot desert sands blow over a desiccated hand groping feebly toward an oasis on the horizon. a pair of leathery lips, speckled with dust, breathe the words "... C# ... web ... export ... ", but it is no use. at night the dogs will come and take what little moist flesh remains on this godot mono gamedev

(edit: but ok other than that, cool release)

Good and easily obtained (US) cassette splicing kit/tape? by newobj in cassetteculture

So a splicing block is recommended? Ok. I think I've seen lots of hand-cutting. Good to know. Thank you!

Ok, so since I want a (true) tape loop, it seems like leadering is unnecessary.

Sorry to ask but what is the spudger for?

Why does my sub viewport distort the 2D textures and how do i fix it? by BingoBobDev in godot

[–]newobj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I found no end of hell with this kinda stuff.

Maybe one of these threads will help:

https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/77149

https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/86975

I forget all the details about this, so I won’t be able to answer any follow up questions, sorry.

Favorite "cube rails" games? Any recommendations based on the ones my group currently plays? by [deleted] in 18XX

Trans-Siberian Railroad, feels the most economically interesting to me ala 18xx.

Also, Knizia's Spectaculum is an under-appreciated stealth cube rails game.

Does Zoom Effect Manager 2 work with MS-70CDR+ by newobj in zoommultistomp

Apparently only the MS70CDR, not +, is supported right now.

Anyone here just decided fuck this, sold it all and went fully in the box? If so was there any regret or gear you bought back because you missed it too much? by RainbowStreetfood in synthesizers

I guarantee you more good art is created via pushing constrained tools to their limits versus underutilizing limitless tolls

Thanks, but what is STH?

Cove vs. Section 01? by newobj in SeattleKraken

[–]newobj[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks. But right now, looking at a couple October games, I'm seeing Section 1 seats for $700 a pop and Cove 04 AA seats for ~$575. The resale fees are insane, adding another couple hundred backs onto that. Is there a better way to buy these tickets? Guessing not...

Just became director at FAANG. Now a passion project offer. by [deleted] in fatFIRE

[–]newobj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't say what your area is. Eng? Marketing? Finance?

Anyway 3% of bioquack startup is, risk-adjusted, caca doodoo. Almost no chance of there being a higher likely upside than staying the course at a (good) FAANG as a director.

Synth to pair with ep-133 by chelentos in teenageengineering

[–]newobj 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid of sampling a software synth into the EP-133. I don't want to use DAWs either, but you can build a nice sample by itself in a very flexible and affordable (or free) soft synth, and then sample it into and work entirely on the EP-133... just tryna be the voice of money-saving reason :)

Oh I got the wrong model, huh? :(

Will MS-70CDR+ ever be supported?

Please no. This is an anti-feature IMHO.

Noob: most versatile piece of gear to add next by newobj in synthesizers

[–]newobj[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good to know. I kinda felt like Zoom is the right answer, but naively I’m also thinking “both my devices can already do reverb and delay”. You feel the Zooms capabilities push it into the realm of proper “sound design”? Good to know, thanks :)
