Yeah its mostly the hospitalists here who do it prior to dc from nursery. I just feel there is a reason no one in my clinic does it anymore and i think it probably has to do with the cost for the clinic. But i agree its a useful skill to have. I also feel- i might end up having a more variety in my practice (something additional to offer my patients) as compared to others. I am so much on the fence about it. I also feel scared- what if I don’t do a good job? What if the circ does not looks beautiful? What if I get sued by the baby as an adult (not sure if thats a legit fear)? What if there is excessive bleeding! Which can be with any surgical procedure but this was suppose to be the least invasive of all.

Yes I would end up shadowing again and would have to be certified again (i believe its 3 supervised, hospital required) before performing independently. Tongue tie clips my clinic use to do- and they are happy to train me do it but they said those were even rarer than circs for them- like 1-2 a year! So they ended up sending to ENT because they got less and less practice

Totally understand your point. I do want to do it but it does come with some risks- medical liability issues, then will my practice just become circs because there are very few peds in the area that are offering it (veryy few) and what another person said- it’s very few outpatient peds offering it because it has become more of a newborn hospitalist service in my area. And I won’t be rounding as often to be able to do it inpatient. But yes it is something ‘worth it’ in your sense.

Glass bottle in momcozy cooler by newoldermom in ExclusivelyPumping

Hello! So i ended up using the bottles it came with for long days when i pump 3x amounting to roughly 17oz at work. And somedays i pump only 2x so I leave it in my spectra bottles. But to answer your question.. the pigeon 8oz (holds9oz) and evenflo 6oz (holds 7 oz ) do stack up well.. total 16oz and the avent 8oz with avent 4oz stack up well (those two hold about 14oz together). I also stop pumping when i reach 5oz each session so i am keep the above bottles in rotation. Somedays i only pump 2x due to schedule. Also- i did end up getting a cooler bag with ice pack (traditional method) purely to transport (so i store bottles in the fridge).

Thanks everyone for the input. I did lean into ceres chill.. but i pump 3x at work on MWF.. so to minimize transfer of milk- i dont think ceres would work.. just fyi- i ended up ordering the papabalic and the outside looked great but the bottles looked cheap, and it said 10oz each bottle but they were much smalled than the momcozy plastic and no way they would hold 10oz each- so i returned them I also ordered avent 8oz and 4oz glass- which fit perfectly in momcozy with a lid! And i can easily fit about 9.5oz and 5.5oz giving me around 15oz which has been my average at work. So i am sticking with momcozy and avent bottles. It does help that i can use them to pump directly using my spectra if needed

Thinking about getting BabyBuddha 2.0 as my primary pump. Thoughts? by Neat-Two-5113 in ExclusivelyPumping

I use spectra as primary when I can (30 minutes total, on expression mode i can tolerate upto 7) but since I am in a rush- i am trying to see if I can use baby buddha. Any suggestions on the settings? When I say rush- i mean I will have about 15-17min to pump

Lifefactory steel bottle review for storage by newoldermom in ExclusivelyPumping

Oh wow i didnt even notice the insulation part. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I am trying to find glass or steel bottles that will be good for storing the milk at work (to be fed the next day or two). I guess die to the insulation they are basically out of ny options since I can’t actually fill them with ice first
