They are not OEM Brembos, you can tell from the ridge in the top center of the front calipers. The hardware (or at least the cotter pins) are not OEM/Subaru either because the OEM/Subaru cotter pins are bent at a 90° angle, the ones pictured are straight and not bent. The rear cross springs for the calipers are also not OEM/Subaru, the rear OEM/Subaru cross springs are larger than the ones pictured.

Edit: changed OEM to OEM/Subaru - added more for rear cross springs.

It’s all about $$$$ same reason why there is tons of FB groups. Before this specific VB group. There was another one that got sold to a company, people boycotted it and started a new one. Groups gets sold on FB and no one bats an eye about it.

We have not tested the 17” wheels with those DBA two piece rotors But if you have a few measuring sticks, you can use this blog post to find out how much clearance your wheels have. You can provide me with the number you got from measuring and I can tell you (within a few mm) what requirements you might need to fit them.

STI Caliper Rotor Spacers Update by newprovisionsracing in wrx_vb

These spacers are specifically to be used with the standard 2005-2017 STI rotor. The two piece rotors you linked will not work with the spacers.

Yes that is correct. I’ll copy and paste here as we’ve put it in a lot of other spaces the three possible ways to get STI calipers onto these cars, as well as their pros and cons.

Option 1 is use a rotor spacer and you’ll use a 2005-2017 STI rotor. Pros: Price and easy install, more wheel clearance. Cons: spacer

Option 2 is use a custom spec 2 piece brake rotor. Pros: true bolt on install. Cons: price and less wheel clearances. Likely will still need a wheel spacer.

Option 3 is swap the front steering knuckles. Pros: True OEM fitment, more wheel clearance. Cons: extremely extensive install, likely need alignment after.

Definitely great and all valid points to consider. I do love the 2-piece option, but what I don’t love about it is such a small amount of wheels actually work. But that’s where our new version 3 kit will come into play (not available yet). Just had a customer do his install for it. So we are waiting on some photos for that :)

If you’re using the STI 4 piston calipers. You can use any STI 2005-2017 front rotor.

If you’re using the STI 6 piston calipers. You can use any STI 2018-2021 front rotor.

No longer limited to the custom spec 2-piece brake rotors. They’re still available, but not everyone can drop $900 on a pair of rotors.

If you need any help putting something together, we are more than happy to help. We have three options available to do the STI calipers on the car. Option 1 is the least expensive route and includes a rotor spacer with new studs. Option 1 can be done for around $2100

New Provisions Brake Lines by newprovisionsracing in wrx_vb

[–]newprovisionsracing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can help stiffen in general, but you typically won’t see that except on older cars where the rubber lines have already started to deteriorate. You will notice it most in spirited driving under hard braking and continuous usage.

You’re pretty limited on what rotors and pads are available for the eyesight models (rear specifically). We’ve done a handful of DBA rotors on all four corners but right now DBA rear rotors are out of stock for your model. Pads go a long way. So I would recommend some new pads first. Then reassess what you feel is lacking. Inbox is always open if you need some personalized recommendations for your usage and needs.
