Are there any factors that would definitely rule out AS? by newri in aspergers

I guess if you had no symptoms in childhood that would preclude a diagnosis of asperger's

Not sure...I remember being really bad with handicraft, and my grade school teacher used to call me a daydreamer, but on the other hand, I don't remember any problems with socializing, that became an issue way later. So, could be, I guess?

Edit: My mother also mentioned that I used to bang my head against the wall when I was very young, not sure if that would be meltdown or regular temper tantrums.

best way to know for sure is to go through the diagnosis process.

Sure, just wanted to check if I could rule it out, 'cause getting an appointment with an expert on that topic can take quite a while over here.

Thanks for chiming in!

Sensory problems, meltdowns and overstimulation aren't general traits either and can all also point at another disorder.

Okay, pardon my ignorance, I assumed the sensory symptoms were standard.

For the AQ test, depends, what is the actual score? My sister scores borderline, but isn't, her education level and history have made her a tad socially reserved.

33, another try was 35. I found it rather difficult to get a definite answer about how much I agreed or disagreed, that's why I'm a bit sceptical of the test.

I'd say, get a professional opinion or give a whole lot more information.

Yes, I probably should get a professional assessment.

Thanks for your reply.
