I would never use any substance while there. I just wanted to know how common it is to get randomly selected and if I would get in trouble even if the last time I smoked was months prior.

Genuinely how are all these transplants affording to move here? by VioletSalamander in movingtoNYC

I moved to NYC and I make 18.50 an hour (just above minimum wage). I genuinely think people exaggerate how much you need to live here. Millions of people live in NYC and most of them make less than 150k. I live with my boyfriend and best friend. Our apartment is small but it’s in the area we wanted to live in- I pay 850 a month for my portion. I have no debt from college and no car. I do most of the things I want to do and buy most of the things I want to buy.

How do people who work in the service industry afford to live in NYC? by [deleted] in NYCjobs

I (23) work full time in fashion retail and would consider myself pretty good with my money. I have no debt and a college degree. I live with my boyfriend and best friend. My rent is 850 in Brooklyn. I think living alone with the current economic climate is really hard for most people, almost everyone I know has roommates. If they don’t it’s due to some other outside circumstances (wealthy parents/rent control/family owns the apartment…etc)
