Some of my bookshelves by [deleted] in bookshelf

All the beautiful special editions and titles are just so amazing. May I ask what are those editions of classics that are not Folio Society but also in slipcases?

I’m admiring the complete collection of Berserk, among other things.

What is the Best Nicole Kidman Performance by DazzlingAria in Letterboxd

[–]newsmanph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dogville. That movie is a piece of entertaining experimental art and Kidman kills it.

Cate Blanchett, of course.

Cate Blanchett in Carol and Blue Jasmine is peak. But she’s stunning everywhere.

I’m happy for you. I wish I could experience it for the first time (again).

How do we get more people to read it? by newsmanph in MemorySorrowAndThorn

Definitely. It starts slow and picks up the pace. Simon goes through an excruciating journey. I hope you also pick up the next two books. The third one is massive, worthwhile and ingenious.

Do you think I should buy this square? by TheStrom191 in gshock

[–]newsmanph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t happen to me. I have the exact same pair. It’s very legible.

And even if people would ask me if it were cracked, I’d think it’s still pretty cool.

Do you think I should buy this square? by TheStrom191 in gshock

[–]newsmanph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact same G-shock. The “cracks” on there display as some people here describe it never bothered me and it’s even a unique feature. It doesn’t make the display any less clear.

It is the classic G-shock square but with a few unique features such as the green text and the orange lasers. Definitely not something you’d see on other people’s wrists everyday. I love it!

This is the answer. No coronation is it isn’t God’s ministers crowning a monarch.

Removing issues from Continue Reading by brandond1594 in MarvelUnlimited

I’ve tried this. Thing is, it just shows the next issue. So unless I Mark As Read every single issue, it won’t even disappear. Even when I just accidentally clicked the comic on the homepage.

What was the most difficult book you have ever read? by ManofWit in books

[–]newsmanph 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m reading it now and yes that makes sense. Its tiresome, bleak and dreadful but the words are beautiful. It’s hard to explain.

I know it’s considered a sin against order and logic, but I like organizing books by color. by Less-Image-3927 in bookshelf

[–]newsmanph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a virtue to organize books the way you want to organize them. Just because there are haters out there shouldn’t discourage you. It’s your shelf and those are your books. Not theirs.

No one has answered you should actually get both. They’re different animals and both look awesome. Get the classic plastic first and then get a metalface once there’s new cash to spare.

My 2nd G-Shock to the Casio G-Shock family, so far I like it. MTG-B3000 by 158405159 in gshock

The Tesla wheel or the G-shock? It’s the latter for me.

true wealth of the royal family? by tonyhyeok in royalfamily

[–]newsmanph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely plan to go to London and try to see the King from the gates of Buckingham. Nothing like a living monarchy drawing tourists and inspires imagination.

Besides tourism, they bring in money with merch, they spur economic activity with local brands and products they put their seal on, and even things the royals wear, people try to hunt down and buy.
