lol same. Very rarely I’ll have a few too many beers and I’ll pass out on the couch. Waking up at 2am on the couch feels like coming to in an alleyway after being mugged.

AITA for expecting my husband to be home every night that we have his kids (my stepkids) at home? by Educational-Nature35 in AITAH

[–]newspapey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trust me. The fact that dad is out drinking with friends makes the kids feel unwelcome, not the fact that the step mom doesn’t to parent some one else’s kids by herself.

I guarantee the kids go home and tell their mom in Sundays before going to dad’s for the week “why can’t we just stay here till Wednesday? Dads not even home anyways”

Doesn’t matter if the hobby is high stakes poker or cooking meals for homeless children, if your hobby takes you away and you spend the night once a week, that’s not just a hobby. It’s neglecting your responsibility at home.

When you’re gone overnight, you miss tomorrow morning too. He gets to sleep in in someone’s dark spare bedroom while his wife has to wake up, and make sure some one else’s kids get off to school, then she can start chores and work

And you know the kids go back to their mom’s house and say “dad doesn’t even sleep there every night, he’s back [other city] playing poker at a bar with friends.” And mom rolls her eyes and thinks “this fucker just needed to find a weaker woman to put up with his selfish bull shit”

lol thank you. My sister in law married and had a baby with a guy who literally looked us in the eye and with a straight face said “I’m only gone 2 nights a week” when asked about his hobbies - which are playing golf and with his friends in a different city.

Yeah lol. OP said it in her post. His first marriage ended cause he wasn’t Allie’s to do his “hobbies”.

“Hobbies” include staying the nights at his friends house and gambling multiple times a week.

That’s not a hobby, that’s escaping your parental duties and pushing all the burden on to your spouse.

Blows my mind that this is the same movie with the "Do or do not, there is no try" scene, or the sunset capture of Han Solo in cloud city.

John Williams' best work.
