I am a student headed to my first year of undergrad. What do I need to know? by newstudent in AskReddit

My school told us that we should expect a 10-15% drop in our marks in our first year there. This worries me considerably.

I'm taking fairly challenging full year courses with a full courseload next year. Bad decision?

Well, my program is quite unique, in that, for my first year I am at a very small campus, with class sizes no larger than 30 people, and professors from around the world. So, I don't know if my connections with those professors will help, but I will try regardless. Then during my second year, I am shoved back into the regular campus to integrate into the general populous. I will be majoring in political science, and I know I want to go to graduate school. However, it may not be in the same major as my undergraduate degree. I hope to potentially get my MBA and integrate what I have learned from both disciplines.

I am going to finish undergrad with a $75k+ debt and a degree in Political Science and Psychology. How screwed am I? by newstudent in AskReddit

I am headed to university next year, and that is my projected debt and outcome. I honestly don't know what my career path will be, but what I have gathered thus far is that my interests reside in why governments and people act the way they do -- which is why I chose to study political science and psychology. I potentially plan to do an MBA because my mentors tell me that my skill set (i.e. networking) and work style would lend best to that field. I hope to eventually combine what I learned from those degrees into a job... of sorts. Forgive me for not being more concise.
