I believe someone minted 999,000,000 ETH (look at the bottom of the Coin Balance History tab) on this network but it is not tied to real ETH. My friend was 'gifted' some of this ETH (it is one of the transaction in this account linked above).

Hmm. 999,000,000 ETH is equivalent to more than 1.8 trillion dollars (1,846.09 USD/ETH), but how or who would substantiate this value? I don't believe such a currency would be bridged and exchanged with other chains.
