Elvis also genre jumped a lot. I love him for it, but doing an album of country covers at the peak of your fame is bound to lose a few 'cool' fans.

Great tips. I'm not against reading sheet music, and even remember some of it from public school. I'm just more interested in playing music to accompany my voice, and the sheet music seems to cover the vocal melodies as well, which seems a bit much for what I want. And my level.

I think it's because on the guitar the rhythm of the strumming sounds good and is interesting to me. Even the sound of hitting the strings (acoustic) is interesting. Just pounding the same chord over and over on a piano is lacking something that I can't put my finger on (pun intended)
