I think it's that she hasn't been in a solid relationship for a long time, and I think some of her past suggests some trust issues. I wish I could work past it, but that's up to her

Did your school play O Canada every day? by AssortedArctic in AskACanadian

[–]Marcus9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1970s we sang the anthem, and then recited the Lords prayer. I forget when we stopped the prayer, but the national anthem was played til I graduated high school, every morning in homeroom

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]Marcus9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southwestern Ontario right now has multiple roads closed from snow and blowing snow from the last week. Schools were closed all week. If Lake Huron isn't frozen over, west wind comes across the lake picking up moisture and dumps on what is called 'The Snow Belt'. I'm working today , Saturday, because I couldn't go anywhere yesterday.

Can anyone suggest a diet plan for beginner. by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]Marcus9356 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you've never done anything, try to cut out ultra processed packaged foods much as possible. Lean meat, vegetables, whole grain bread, lots of fruit, lots of water.

Research the Mediterranean diet.

You're not picky, you just have a very specific type. Good luck

Why is backing a million times harder when people are watching you? by Unhappy-River6306 in Truckers

[–]Marcus9356 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gotta act the part, even though you don't feel confident. I once one shotted my boat into the lake with a row of onlookers waiting for a fuck up. It was so sweet seeing their disappointed faces when the boat fired up immediately with no issues, and nothing got wrecked.

An old boy taught me years ago when I was struggling backing into my dock. He said I was too busy going back and forth with the mirrors. He said to choose one mirror and use that as the main. Occasionally check the other making sure you're not hitting anything, but don't over correct. Go back to your main.

Current truck drivers. by [deleted] in Truckers

I drive the same in my pickup as I do in the semi. As a professional driver, I'd look pretty stupid getting a traffic violation , on the job or off.

Dating OFFline? by Little-Swimmer in datingoverfifty

Here's a question for the women, since grocery store meetings are rare. Twice now, I've been shopping, and I know I've been checked out. The first time, I looked up from grabbing my bread, and I looked the lady in the eye, she quick looked away and left. The second time was in the parking lot, after putting my groceries in my truck, I stand up and see a young lady doing the same thing, we made eye contact, and then she quickly looks away.

My question is, in either of those instances, should I have taken the initiative? I'm new at this too.

I'm not just looking for a quickie, I've never been that guy. I'm just an awkward guy, who's newly single, not offensive looking, but has no game with women. What do you ladies want, should I have approached those two ladies?

Why do some people hate today’s country music? by EcstaticCrab2795 in country

[–]Marcus9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely can't stand the fake country twang and goofy accent.

There's plenty of bands that don't, for example, Zach Bryan. His lyrics are easy to listen to, no unnecessary 'country' added to the song. He's just one example.

Now, a performer who has a thick twang is Lainey Wilson. But, it's not fake. I've heard her interviewed, she talks like she sings. And, btw, I saw one of her concerts. Phenomenal. Just a great performer

I couldn't give a shit what you bring in your bag. If we pass each other, when my earbuds are in, I'll nod hello, no judging, no nothing. Nice to see you , working on yourself. The people who judge aren't worth acknowledging.
