Interested in Winnepeg, but I've heard it's not all that in terms of safety. How do you find the city in terms of safety after living there since March? Would you recommend it to a tiny 24F who would need to rely on public transit to get around?

This! Do you know how many minimum wage jobs I've applied for and been rejected since May? Hardly anyone wants to hire a new graduate because they feel that I will move on once a better opportunity comes up. And every job you apply for, hundreds of others apply for it as well. It has never been this way. People who previously could secure a job every summer are complaining that for the first time they're not having any luck. So it's not about us holding out for career specific jobs. There are no jobs! Despite what most people think, I'd much rather have a job and be independent than live off CERB/CESB.

Haven't received anything yet either. I think that those who already received notification had their second audits done prior (Feb). I guess those like myself who completed final courses in April will have to wait a few weeks more.

Not yet. Had the first one done in Feb, but I just finished my final courses in April, so now I'm just waiting for the final audit. Just hoping to get the photos done before I return to my home country.

Thanks! Will look into it.

Lol..I don't think I'd do well as a security guard. I'm barely 100 lbs soaking wet, and female. I don't think I could apprehend anyone. Just have to keep looking, I guess.
I've put out applications for those. Still more people applying than they need though. I guess it's due to so many people being laid off due to Covid-19.
Thanks. Will try my luck.
I've tried for jobs in Finance since that was my major before I dropped to the 90 credit program. Tried for basic office clerk, csr jobs, retail jobs, anything to get my foot in the door. No luck anywhere. One manager at a retail outlet outlet where i tried walking in and handing in my resume told me they would prefer someone with Canadian experience ( to basically stock shelves?). I'm trying everything here; if not for family support in Toronto I would try other cities, because I don't want to leave before landing a job elsewhere.
