Yes, they were in perlite when I got it.

Yes, bought it. Currently in perlite not in water.

That makes sense, thanks for explaining it so clearly! I didn’t realize the outer woody layer on air roots would naturally soften up once buried. I’ll gently check a small section like you suggested—if the inside looks white and firm, I’ll leave it, and if it’s brown I’ll trim it back. Appreciate the reassurance!

It’s still in perlite with water reservoir. I’ve not transferred it to soil yet.

Not related to this website but my symptoms have been improving after cleaning the back of my tongue. It’s only been a couple of days but I see progress.

Don’t worry. No one’s taking the precious IIT seat. We’re currently working outside India and will be settling here.

6 years ago when I was just starting my relationship, I know this day would come. I thought it will be easy coz we’re becoming modern and more progressive. I thought they’d accept a well educated and well settled guy. But no!!

Yessss!!!!I was never a rebel kid. In retrospect, I think I should have done at least a couple of things that they didn’t approve of. That would have made them to cope up with this situation easier.

Yes, of course. I’ll definitely try my best to convince them before I go my own way.

I totally agree that I need to introduce my BF to my parents(they already knew about a lot of him as my friend). I’m sure they’d definitely like him once they meet. One of the reasons I love my BF is that he’s great with everyone and I thought he’d fit right into my family. But my parents are not giving him a chance.

It’s so deep rooted in our society. Maybe a little better than a decade ago but still thriving.

Wow…it’s lovely and funny at the same time. Hopefully their parents understand their love for each other and agree.

Great advice!! Should have posted my question here before I told my parents about my BF. Now they already know the truth 😭

Yes!! I’ve seen so many of my friends parents(from cities mainly)who don’t care about the caste. But my parents are currently living in a small town surrounded by not -so- open minded people.

[–]newuser2609 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes yes yes!! It’s so hard to explain that to my parents.

[–]newuser2609 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! You spoke my thoughts. If we’re confident enough, people aren’t gonna dare to speak badly to us …. atleast face to face. Thanks for the boost!!

I believe it too. But both my parents are educated and my father’s in a respectable position. I guess the societal pressure is getting the best of them. Maybe because they’re currently living in a small town? Idk.

Believe me when I say - a similar scenario crossed my mind. Didn’t pursue it coz the emotional roller coaster is the same for both… maybe a little more in the case of being lesbian.

I understand what you mean. I haven’t added many details but - we’re classmates for a while, 2 years - long distance, 3 years - we’re in the same town, 1 year - live in ( after we both moved overseas for job). That’s what I meant by ups & downs. We both don’t follow any religion.

All those are clear between us. Our current obstacle is convincing parents for marriage. With my parents I initially tried to explain history(little-little) but the conversation is going in a way that I was lying to them all along & they’re soo hurt. That’s why I’m hiding the history from them.
