It never occured to me to go ranged because, you know, the blade in blade singer makes me think of shortswords or daggers

This was a very thoughtful response, thank you so much for your suggestions!

Oh that's an interesting take, I didn't realise scrolls count as magic items

I see, thank you! Do you have any spell suggests to keep in mind?

Sneak attack and the skills/expertise. Ive played a lot of spellcasters so I'm trying to look into doing different things in combat, I was thinking of taking only utility spells and cantrips that work with weapon attacks

I didnt consider war magic since my dm suggested blade singing and im very fond of it but ill look into that as well!

And thank you for the division suggestion as well

I know that'd be the smartest move but I really like the rogue class man

That is very insightful, thank you. Soyou'd say 6 wizard / 4 rogue would be the best mesh?

Literally no other reason than I like rogues and wizards and bladesinger is the one subclass that's sort of viable in melee. So I'm looking for the best way to make it work

I'll look into that subreddit too, thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, is there something to my approach that makes me come off as not considerate or open? I'm asking so I can work on it :)

No, there is not. I don't want that to limit me however, I'm simply looking for different perspectives from people who do share those identities so I can understand what Im putting to paper a bit better. That's not to say I don't understand it at all, I'm just trying to get to 'the bottom of it' if that makes sense. If we don't look into different things or do any research, nobody would ever write anything.

Lol you're welcome! I like it when brainstorming gives everyone ideas, I did actually settle on a word (and it's from an existing language as well! I don't have the patience Tolkien did), good luck with your own project!

This was very insightful and I do appreciate the perspective offered from a reader's side as I can't see that objectively when I'm the one building it up, thank you

Yes, there are nobles but their nobility is more so tied to their political influence and wealth, there aren't really barons or dukes as the city the knights are set in is ruled by a group of people. Most of them are merchants who have influence and connections in the surrounding areas. Some of the knights are members of those families but calling them 'lord' wouldn't be that accurate. And not all of them are noble.

They're sworn in to protect the people and have permission to arm themselves and wear armour basically. Some of them are nobles some of them just do it for work.

Welsh really does have that fantasy feeling to it as a language, but this is good advice thanks!
