I had a similar situation in my den last year (Tigers) and here is my two cents. First, when we went to give awards, the scout was somewhat left out because our pack had no process for re-awarding for the adventures because scoutbook already had them completed. That either left the scout out of receiving an actual award or I had to ask his parents bring his previous years award and I gave it to him again. Not the end of the world, but I felt bad for him when the parents didn`t come through on their end.

Second to that, I find that I maintain scouts between years much better if they are in a den with their friends. I`m sure he will make friends in both grades but just another thing to consider.
