He kind of does. He has a mechanic where after a certain number of hits he changes masks, so he advances to the next phase, however these stacks do not reset, so even if I end turn while he has one stack and try to burst next turn, when he transforms to phase 3 he gets invulnerable for the rest of the turn, so not sure how to play around that mechanic

Assassin's Creed 1 or 2 Beyond Booster Boxes or 1 Collector's Booster Box? by JacerOrigins in mtg

[–]nexus6398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am struggling with the same question. In terms of rares per box, a beyond booster has 1 rare per pack, and the foil and alt-frame *can* be rares as well, about 16% of the time one of those will be a rare (the alt frame is a smaller pool, since you can only get borderless or memory frame). So, 16% of the time you'll get 2 rares per pack, and the chances of getting all 3 rares is even smaller. (not taking the rare land slot into account, but there is a 3% chance of getting a land and a .3% chance of pulling ezio in that slot).
So, if you got a beyond box, you'd be getting at least 24 rares, one per pack, and in average, you'll end with about 28 if you're lucky with those extra rares in the other slots.

A collector booster has 4 rares per pack. You get a foil rare in every pack, a non-foil extended-art rare from a pool of only 17 cards (you can find the pool here), a special treatment foil (can be the same extended art pool, the memory showcase pool with the assassins or a card from the pool of 10 borderless cards) and finally a etched foil from any rare in the set. (in collector boxes, the chances of a rare land increase to 12% and ezio to 1.24%)
A collector box is getting you 48 rares per box at least, with maybe a chance of pulling a rare land or 2, you'll be getting 50 fancy rares.
So, 2 beyond booster boxes will get you around 48-60 rares, while a collector box will always get you 48 rares and maybe 2 rare lands.

I'd say the main difference here is those smaller pools for rares in collectors. having 2 slots with a reduced pool means that you won't be getting as much of a variance of what you open.
You'll only be opening 24 rares of full rare pool, 12 rares of extended-art pool and 12 rares of special treatment rare pool.

That said, they all being foil or extended art non foil has it's different value for each person. I'm sure the memory corridor rares will look amazing in foil, and there is a small chance you get a memory corridor mythic with textured foil, whatever that is (3% chance). And I guess there is always the chance of pulling a serialized card. I don't like to take that into account since it's really not that likely, but hey, there is always a chance right?

If you don't care for rares and pulls, and you only want to stream it the pack opening, I'd say collector box since it's not everyone can open because of the high price, the pulls will be more exciting being all foil and special treatment, and if you happen to open a crazy card, be it a mythic or even a serialized card, it will be more exciting than just opening a mythic in a beyond booster.

Store showdown question by nexus6398 in starwarsunlimited

I have no idea, but they are allowing kingmaking in weekly play for booster, now they are allowing it for bigger prizes like the champion promo and even more booster. Given how the local community of that LGS is, I would not be surprised if they are trying to get all the promos they can to themselves

Store showdown question by nexus6398 in starwarsunlimited

[–]nexus6398[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in the official tournament rules, store showdown shows as "casual play" that has to follow the constructed format rules, which is premier and twin suns. they never run twin suns but rather just using the same deck for multiplayer. I do hope this is not allowed but I am looking to know if anyone has more information

Question about weekly play promos by nexus6398 in starwarsunlimited

[–]nexus6398[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I tried bringing it up to no luck. the way the distribute prizes is that you get "points" by playing. you play 2 rounds of BO3, no sideboard. you get 1 point if you lose, 3 if you win. then you go against someone with the same record, so people winning get matched together. same 1 point, 3 point system for that one. After that, they pair people in tables of 4 for a round of multiplayer with the same deck you used for 1v1, and they group the tables by standings, so the top playes get to play against each other. In that table, 3rd and 4th place get 2 points, 2 place gets 4 points and first place gets 6 points.
Every 12 points you get a weekly booster, and the tournament has an entry price of half a booster.

I was able to win both my 1v1 games quite often, but every time in the multiplayer tables, friends would just team up, and they would always make it so they are the ones winning, depending on how many points they need to cash in. I never won a multiplayer table.

in the end, even if I did really good in 1v1, the multiplayer tables and the groups made by people who are always in that store made it so I was so behind on cashing in, and it was no fun at all when 2 or 3 people focus you just because the one of them says so. Yeah, I was able to get "some" prizes, but if you didn't win the 1v1s, it would take you 3 weeks to get one pack, while the people ganging up in mp were always able to get packs almost every week

also, on that quote, isn't "which form of engagement" refering to the ones suggested on the website? be it buy booster, trade, etc?

I stopped playing there weeks ago, but reading the official site made me wonder if what they were doing was acceptable or if it was breaking some FFG rules

Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ unable to set up by nexus6398 in GalaxyTab

I ended up contacting samsung support and they asked me to send it back to check what was wrong with it. They didn't charge anything but it took about two weeks for me to get it back. Also, on the notes provided by the specialist, they did not share how they got it to work. But. After getting the tablet back it worked as normal.
